The state agency that regulates the alcohol market said this month that it will slash vodka prices in February by about 16%.

The price cut marks a reversal for Russian policy makers, who have tried to discourage excessive drinking by hiking alcohol taxes, banning advertising and introducing new, restrictive regulations over the past few years.

Regulated markets are more fun to game by the unscrupulous.

Simple really. If your stone cold drunk you can take what Putin is giving you in the end.

Sat next to a Russian on a flight from IAH to Amsterdam and he was pounding vodka. Tried ordering me one to get around the flight attendant limits. The Ruskie behind him was on a mission as well. I'm going with stereotype -confirmed.

I got a Vodka question (I don't drink Vodka). Does expensive Vodka taste better than cheap Vodka? If so, in what way?

Any pure Vodka to me is flavorless. The only difference that I can make out is smoothness (that being the intensity of the alcohol burn).

Mostly in the hang over.

I buy Burnetts vanilla vodka and its very very reasonable and have never had a hangover from it.
Bartenders tip thats has saved buckets of money.
