One currently has sanctions and the other gets military aid.
I am fine with revisiting the conversation on who is our friend (SA is not IMHO), but it needs to be a conversation.
And IMHO, Russia is not our friend. They are not a natural ally.

Can you expound on how you've come to this conviction? The United States and Russia have had friendly, non-adversarial relations essentially until 1917. Besides the Soviet era, what makes Russia such a foe to the United States?

How things get muddled with political rhetoric throughout history.
They have always been strong-minded and strong-willed and don't give a crap about what the rest of the world thinks.

But for libs, I think it's more that Focus on the Family is an evil hate group and oppressive regimes in the Muslim world that persecute minorities of all stripes are culturally valuable and we shouldn't seek to impose our narrow minded will on them.
