re: ron paul farewell address to congress

quote:

I can understand your logic in ending the war on drugs...but you said it...the people that oppose the ware on drugs (blacks, latinos, and young people) are probably the least educated groups in our population. Should that tell us something?

I think opposition to ending the prohibition is built on fear, which is perpetuated by those who have a strong interest in continuing the drug war.

People just don't know any different. But can you imagine a society where people are no longer afraid and hate police, and realize they are again here to "serve and protect" you from others, not you from yourself?

Imagine the families not broken up and the crime that goes away when the black market loses it's power. Imagine your tax dollars funding something other than war (on drugs, on other nations.)

We may find a much much better society.

Speaking of threads, I think I'm about to start one and ask if Obama is a neo-con.

He is. His FP is bush 2.0

His entire administration is negligibly different from W's on substance.

I've always wondered that. He's so similar to bush that I can't help but notice the similarities.

What you think of that?

It would send the liberals on here into a tizzy though.

It'd piss off the conservatives, too. They're convinced he's extremely far left.

I'm not sure that I really understand what you're saying here...this is obviously an opinion...or wait...do you have a link to a study of obama supporters to romney supporters IQ levels?

You can have qualities of both.

IQ levels
Are not the same as

The most educated among us

But it's well known that the most highly educated Americans also tend to vote Democrat.

Just about every poll shows that those with advanced degrees preferred Obama over Romney at a fairly decent clip.

But you know that's not what mainstream Republicans and conservatives accuse him of. I agree with you, just commenting on the average impression.

Bush was more left than right IMO. Not on everything, but the big things.

I respect your opinion and you may be correct..however, we may also find a much worse society.

I am of the opinion that the destruction of the black populations family structure has larger issues than fathers getting thrown in jail for weed.

Sounds like paradise man.

People have no idea that they, not the politicians can change their society for the better.

It starts at the voting booth voting for the right candidates and laws that minimizes gov't.

There are probably reasons unrelated to education but you folks will believe what you want, regardless.

But a huge factor in other criminal activity is the war on drugs and the drug trade. Other types of crime would be hugely reduced.

Oh so we're going to university route...

That's easy...because in theory socialism works.

In reality, successful business owners are the ones that keep the food on the table bro...and I'm pretty sure they favored romney.

Although I don't have facts...and I'm not sure that you do either godfather.

Did I say I thought it was because they were educated? No. Lay off, dude. I'm not a Democrat. I'm a liberal.

I have no love for the Democrat party, or the Republican party. Hell, I think I'm still a registered Libertarian.

One puppet of the corporate/banking Fascist elite reminiscent of the previous puppet of the corporate/banking Fascist elite shouldn't be too surprising.

You're the one who brought up education levels padna.

You're using the same logic that says Obama was the best choice. I don't agree with that logic.
