This may have been said, as I didn't go through all the posts, but, the real point is not whether she cast the last and deciding vote, the point is had she represented the wishes of the majority of the people of the state she was elected to serve, the bill would have been defeated. She spit in the face of the majority of Louisianians and all of the country is paying for that arrogance. By the way, for what it worth, I was at a "presentation" where she reiterated her statement that she would vote for the ACA again and again...is she could.
She said if you don't like what she's doing, vote her out.
It's that simple.

If we vote Landrieu into office again, I may want to leave this state.
I am in the same boat.

As do I being an engineer in the oilfield and so does my father who is in medical sales. This is exactly why we would never vote for Landrieu. He is affected even more than me because he has to deal with Obamacare and they are banning their products from government run hospitals because his company bought another company in the UK and Obama and the dems think they are going to move their headquarters there.

Interesting, listening to Landrieu apologists I would have thought oil field workers were exempt from Obamacare.
The fact is Louisiana and the oil companies here have flourished long before Landrieu was elected, and they will continue to flourish after she is defeated.
Now the situation in the ship building industry is entirely different. He depends on federal contracts, and needs to kiss federal butt to get them. But I'm also sure that Cassidy or whomever replaces Landrieu will do the same

I hate Mary Landrieu as much as the next guy, but I have two points on this
1. She came out and admitted she was just saying what she was told about people keeping their health plans, and was just as surprised as everyone else when they couldn't. This doesn't make her a liar, it means she was told a lie and believed it
2. Negative ads are the worst, honestly when I see ads soley focussed on bashing an opponent it makes me dislike the person who made it more than the one who it bashed, you can find things to make any politician look bad in an ad

She was perfectly willing to believe something that would give her cover to do what she was going to do anyway.

That was one of the main arguments against the ACA. She's smart enough to see the way the whole law was rigged, the deals cut, the lack of time for the Congress to read and digest the ad, that the plan was deeply flawed.
For something as monumental as taking control of 1/6 of the economy, something as personal as one's health, and finally with such massive opposition in her state, she owed it to the people of La. to vote against it.
I can only imagine that she thought the people of this state would be naïve enough to forget about it, as she's gotten used to the tentacles of an ever expanding Federal Government, or she thought the average voter is so corrupt that their personal health care choices could be bought off with a "Medicaid Fix".
And finally, if she was lied to, why does she keep saying that she would vote for it again?

Off the top turnbuckle ad.
Nice.
Nice.

The money point.
And remember she was going to use all her influence to get it fixed . What happened with that?
