Retired U.S. Army Colonel Charged With Conspiring to Bribe Senior Officials of the Republic of Haiti

quote:

A retired U.S. Army colonel was charged in a complaint unsealed today for his alleged role in a foreign bribery and money laundering scheme in connection with a planned $84 million port development project in Haiti.

Joseph Baptiste, 64, of Fulton, Md., was arrested this morning on a criminal complaint filed in the District of Massachusetts. He was charged with one count of conspiracy to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and to launder money.

The complaint alleges that Baptiste solicited bribes from undercover agents in Boston who posed as potential investors in infrastructure projects in Haiti, in connection with a proposed project to develop a port in the Moles Saint Nicolas area of Haiti. According to the complaint, the proposed project was expected to cost approximately $84 million, and was to involve the construction of multiple cement factories, a shipping-vessel recycling station, an international transshipment station with numerous slips for shipping vessels, a power plant, a petroleum depot and tourist facilities. The complaint alleges that Baptiste told the agents, in a recorded meeting at a Boston-area hotel, that he would funnel the payments to Haitian officials through a non-profit entity that he controlled — which was based in Maryland and purported to help impoverished residents of Haiti — in order to secure government approval of the project.

The complaint further alleges that in telephone calls intercepted by agents pursuant to court authorization, Baptiste discussed bribing an aide to a senior Haitian official by giving him a job on the port development project after he left his position. It further alleges that although Baptiste ultimately used for personal purposes approximately $50,000 that he received from undercover agents for the payment of bribes to Haitian officials — money that was wired at Baptiste’s direction to a non-profit organization he controls — he intended to seek additional money from the undercover agents to use for future bribe payments in connection with the port project.

Ports handle lots of "traffic". Ports = access (some are better than others with "access"). Even better if you regulate port "security"....

prior thread, scroll down for discussion of ports...

Post will have the following in it:

quote:

In 2013, Clinton's close associate, Terry McAuliffe will be caught by the FBI for receiving as much as $160,000 in contributions from a Chinese businessman who owns the company which controls the Dandong Port Group. Interesting to note for later about McAuliffe is that he also is one of Salomon Melgen's frequent visitors at the resort, Casa de Campo, which is in the Dominican Republic. The links between the Asian nations and the Dominican Republic will be a consistent theme.

Is this related to the Clinton's killing of Klaus Eberwein?

I think a lot of your posts with these pictures that are attempting to connect things would be a lot more understandable if you provide some more background summary (or bullet points) since most of us don't have that foundational knowledge.

Besides the fact that both have shady dealing regarding Haiti, I'm having trouble seeing the connection between the Colonel and the Clintons. I mean I wouldn't be surprised if they are connected, but I'm having trouble seeing this connection in your post.

And I find this especially confusing:
quote:

In 2013, Clinton's close associate, Terry McAuliffe will be caught by the FBI for receiving as much
Will be caught (future tense) in 2013? I don't understand how someone can make a prediction about when someone will be caught for something, and I don't understand what that means 4 years after the predicted date.

This is how you out yourself as a person who is clearly faux "objective." I can appreciate you trying to appear objective but you clearly aren't. You want him to spoon feed you it all so you can find a way to attack the messenger.

If you really did care about this, there is a shite ton out there on this stuff already. It seems clear you would rather assume this stuff isn't true and just look for ways to discredit it instead of opening your mind (you know, be objective) and research it yourself.

I have done this before, but I then get criticized for posting a shite ton of stuff that no one has time for

I will show people the door(s), but I can't make them walk through them (that is up to them)

You are doing it right good sir. It means nothing if people only think what they are told to think.

Of all the posts you could point out where I'm clearly not objective, this is the one use instead?
quote:

I can appreciate you trying to appear objective but you clearly aren't.
Well I'm beginning to think this a compliment, since my post was regarding my confusion. So then if you think my post was "faux" objectivity, then I guess I'm not confused, and I'm smarter than I even thought.

Why would I waste time asking for information, if I could have just attacked the messenger in the first place?
quote:

Why do you always do this? When clarification, information, sources, etc are requested, you always say "it's out there" go find it. I wouldn't waste my time asking for it if I knew where to begin in the first place.

Well when claims are made, and those claims are confusing, uncommon, and/or questionable on its face, then my aprori is to be skeptical. I mean I didn't question the Colonel bribery part of the OP because it's common and the story and evidence is clear.

I'm not saying you have to do it, or if you do it, that it needs to spell everything out. I'm just saying that a quick synopsis of the background and the connections--essentially like a manuscript abstract, not necessarily the entire manuscript itself.

But for me at least, it's more like showing a number of doors in a dark room. It would be nice to have a little light and maybe some guidance to which doors I should enter.

Thine has a history of posts like this, they're all tied together. The point is to show posters information about what the deep state is and how intertwined it is. I'd suggest going back in his post history (assuming Thine is a he) and you'll gain a better idea of the big picture. The deep state is far too vast for a synopsis. If this sounds like tin foil hat material to you, then you think exactly the way you've been programmed to think.

Because you have already labeled posters/messengers in your mind. You aren't going to believe anything I present to you because you are programmed to reject it. The only way you are going to find the truth is if YOU look for it and find it on your journey. Nobody here can walk you down the path. All anyone can do is say, "hey, there is a path over there. You ever checked it out?"

So if you really do care... If you really are Objective..... If you do want to question anything and everything you thought you knew....if you really want to be that, it has to be you to do it. Sitting around and asking people to convince you isn't going to do it. So I'm not going to waste my time doing it.

Same here. Been about 3 years for me. I used to buy the movies and media narrative that anyone "woke" was delusional if not schizophrenic.

I finally started asking why people would lie about it and research the people I was hearing/seeing/reading about. Turns out most of these folks are brilliant folks from the world of STEM. These people are looking at the world through the lens of logic and common sense.
