I support Trump never releasing tax returns. Releasing personal records is a stupid tradition anyway and has no impact on the merits of their policy ideas. Their ideas either get elected of they don't.

I never cared about Obama refusing to release his birth records and college transcripts beyond thinking it was funny how he was doing it to troll the right but really nothing more than that.

Remember when the House GOP tried to force Obama to release his birth certificate and college transcripts?

In 2008, the state of Hawaii issued Obama's birth certificate in response to a public records request. After that, any idea he wasn't born in the USA was absolutely absurd. But that didn't stop Donald J. Trump from making an absolute fool of himself from 2011 to 2016.

Why? So you people can exhibit false outrage at his write offs?

Or make sure he isn't compromised? or make moves that favor his businesses? It's weird how people keep making excuses for him.

I would release them either

April 27. 2011:
Trump promised to release his tax returns if Obama released his Long form birth certificate. On this day Obama released his long form certificate.
“That’s something I would be thinking about doing anyway. That is certainly something I’d be thinking about doing anyway. But before I do anything I have to make the decision in June and the first thing I’m going to be releasing will be financials,” Trump said.

Falcone asked again, will you fulfill that pledge that you made where you said I’m going to tie the birth certificate to my tax records?

“Yeah, at the appropriate time,” Trump responded.

“So you’ll do it?”

“Yeah, at the appropriate time I’m going to do it,” Trump told him.

February 25, 2015: "I would release tax returns....I would certainly show tax returns if it was necessary....I have no objection to certainly showing tax returns."

January 24, 2016
: "We're working on that now. I have very big returns, as you know, and I have everything all approved and very beautiful, and we'll be working that over in the next period of time....We're working on it right now, and at the appropriate time you'll be very satisfied."

February 25, 2016
: "I will absolutely give my return, but I'm being audited now for two or three years, so I can't do it until the audit is finished, obviously."

May 10, 2016
: "I'll release. Hopefully before the election I'll release."

September 26, 2016:
"I don't mind releasing—I'm under a routine audit. And it'll be released....As soon as the audit's finished, it will be released."

October 9, 2016
: "As soon as my routine audit is finished, I'll release my returns. I'll be very proud to. They're actually quite great."

He promised that he would release his tax returns. Your point would fine if he didn't constantly make it a point to the american people he would release his tax returns.

He also promised to release Melania's immigration documents, and Secret information in Hawaii on Obama birth Certificate.

I don't understand why he can't say no from the get go.

Most of the people crying about his tax returns either don't have to file, file a 1040EZ, or know nothing about running a business. They wouldn't understand Trump's tax returns with their skill set.

If there were anything illegal in his tax returns you can be guaranteed the biased IRS under Obama would have spoken up about it.

There is nothing to be gained by releasing them. The left will find something to bitch about no matter how within the law they are. The Never Trumpers will melt because they haven't figured out how to build wealth and minimize their own taxes.

I personally think he should release them. He holds the most powerful position in the world and trust in the individual is paramount. I don't think he has anything notable to hide either (hopefully), but he needs to do what he said he'd do, release them, and move on.

What adult doesn't have to file taxes? And who files EZs anymore? Waiters?

People aren't looking for illegal activities in his taxes. Looking for compromises and Russian ties that apparently Trump is trying to cover.
