I have little doubt that Brown went for his gun while they fought in the car...I have little doubt that that is how Brown got himself shot in the car. I also have little doubt that Brown put his hands up outside of the car as he was running away and took the fatal shot. It's just a bad, bad scene. I feel bad for the cop...he was amped and carried it too far...but you've got to maintain control. I feel bad for Brown, because his dead even though he finally came to his senses. Honestly, it's not a black/white thing at that point...it's an adrenalin response thing. One can debate the whole race issue over the initial interaction, but once the struggle started...it turns into a fight/flight response.

Right. So pay attention going forward to this tactic being used on other, more broadbased, matters.

i don't think any of the objective evidence backs this up, especially the "running away" part

Sad to say, but none of this will matter to the race-baiters. They've already gotten their marches and protests in.

Checks have been written. Money's in the bank. They'll slink off in the dark of night and pretend none of this ever happened.

No one runs away with hands up. Try it. It don't work very well.

Is there anyone who could lead us in this situation? Is there a man or woman who could reason with both sides? This is a teachable moment. Situations like this are golden opportunities.

There is such a person. I'd change my opinion of him 180 degrees if he'd speak up, but I'm afraid he will not.

actually this is the perfect time to have a guy like Obama as President. he could make major inroads to stopping riots

i agree

my biggest hope with Obama when he was elected was to try to use his massive political and social capital to do stuff like this, but he's done the opposite

One protester warned to CNN about what would happen if Wilson is set free.

“If there is not an indictment, excuse my French, all hell is going to break loose,” the protester revealed.

Precisely. The same with Holder.

Just like in the Martin case, the media got it wrong and created a story where there wasn't one.

Pathetic.

All of this begs the following question; in a country of 330 million, what is going to happen when a white person really does shoot a black person in a non-provoked situation where self-defense is not a part of the dynamic?

There are probably a dozen black-on-black murders in Chicago every weekend, and nobody ever says a thing. But based on the behavior we've seen from both the Ferguson and Trayvon Martin cases, both cases where there was/is strong evidence to suggest that the "victims" were shot in self-defense, God help us all when some jerk/racist/nutjob actually shoots a black person in cold blood.

In a country of 330 million, it seems inevitable to me that one day we are going to have a legitimate black victim. What happens then?

I don't read a lot of optimism in that, brah.

But, hey, we all should be able to dream, right?

People thought this was cold blooded. Same result will follow, imo. Maybe more whites will join.

The funny thing is: Obama could pivot to something like this and get away from a lot of the troubles bogging down his presidency. He has a win/win right in front of his face

a.) stop militarization of police forces/return to protect and serve

b.) address the problems of inner cities and black culture (and only a handful of people can talk about his - he's one of them)

The evidence is peripheral in regard to the real problem up there in Ferguson. Political correctness - and it's spawn, double standards or no standards - is the real danger. The *reverend* Sharpton et al will whip up the fury just like with Brawley. The only question will be whether the gangs will be allowed to go rogue or LE will shut it down with whatever force required.

Anybody think Obama/Holder will step in and do the right think?
