Reddit introduces r/popular

The new r/all is supposed to open the door to allowing more communities to climb to the front page.
Except for such subreddits that "users commonly filter out like narrowly focused politically related subreddits."
What might fall out of r/popular due to those guidelines? Did you guess r/The_Donald? Yup. r/The_Donald is narrowly focused, which yeah, they're right, it is.
But r/politics apparently doesn't fall under that same description as you could tell by having 5 posts on the front page of r/popular. Just business as usual there, informing everyone with a broad perspective of D.C. politics.
So congrats reddit, you continue to insulate yourselves further away from any meaningful discourse and "hate speech" and will become even more of an echo chamber.
FTR I'm just a pleb who used to visit reddit often for r/funny and fantasy sports.

The site allows me to filter out the crazy SJW's just as effectively as I can filter out r/TheDonald.
Granted, I have to filter alot of subs to cleanse my feed. But the new filter has been nice.

/r/politics is the yin to TD's PT yang.
Both echo chambers.
Both echo chambers.

Not hardly. There are many topics here daily that have upvote/downvotes at like 25 to 23. There is a lot of disagreement here

Except for the banning of opposition voices in each sub, yea, exactly alike.

Just that one is automatically filtered and another is not
default subreddits I've filtered out since the election
r/pics
r/technology
r/worldnews
r/politics
r/ELI5

These aren't default subreddits.
And I imagine things like r/EnoughTrumpSpam and r/SandersforPresident are also filtered out of r/popular.
You seem upset about nothing.
