I'm not interested in playing the Grim Reaper here, but facts are facts. If President Trump wins reelection in 2020, the odds are overwhelming that he will get to replace a MINIMUM of 2 of these 3 Justices, and I would say that there's somewhere in the neighborhood of a 65-70% chance that he gets to replace all of them.

In fact, he will probably replace one of them before 2020.

By 2024 (or earlier) the Supreme Court is gonna be a sea of red, and not even Moses himself could part it.

#WINNING

PS - Miss Kagan is going to end up feeling very lonely on that Court.

If we don’t appoint one this year I doubt we get the opportunity in 2020 due to the precedent we set

Donald just tweeted that he going to be at a rally in Green Bay Wisconsin in 4 days.

Rally early and often. Got sure up the 2020 victory so we can get these SOTUS picks in.

And I just looked at the Senate match ups for 2020. The only GOP seat that concerns me is Cory Gardner. But that can be offset when we take back the Alabama seat. Worse case for the Senate GOP is -1. Likely case is the count stays the same. Best case is GOP +1 (if Gardner holds his seat and the GOP picks up bama).

What precedent?

The GOP controls the senate.

If the Democrats controlled the senate then it would be the same precedent. But they don't.

And if not, the Democratic party will be done by 2024.

Pretty sure the precedent set was that when the senate is controlled by a party other than the president's during an election year, they wouldn't confirm their nominee

I'm pretty sure that Harry Reid set the precedent. But, it only works when your party has a majority in the Senate.

Even with crumbums like Benedict Romney and Murkowski, I think the Republicans could confirm a United States Supreme Court Justice in 2020.

The Dems will just change the rules when they get back in power. 15 judges coming when that happens.

Everyone is getting confused here. We are talking about three different things.

1. Harry Reid went nuclear on DC appeals court judges. They only need 50+1 to be approved...no cloture vote required.
2. McConnell follow suit and went nuclear on SCOTUS court judges. They only need 50+1 to be approved...no cloture vote required.
3. McConnell followed the Biden Rule and kept Garland from having his confirmation hearing because the opposing party from the White House controlled the senate.

I wouldn't be surprised if the FISA DECLASS ended up getting Roberts in hot water.

And, Justice Thomas may choose to retire so that Trump can select his successor.

Trump has already replaced 2 Justices. A 2-term Trump could potentially replace a generationally significant 6 SCOTUS Justices, and as you've suggested 4 is almost certain. Even this floor of 4 is very significant for 1 President.

My only concern with any of Trumps picks would be ... republicans seem to miss on conservative justices. We select one then they move towards the left . Democrat selections were selected as liberals and stayed liberal . They don’t miss All remaining picks that trump gets need to be to the right of Attila the Hun , so if they do choose to move left it will still be conservative
