For the first time in nearly a decade, former Mayor Ray Nagin is apparently free from the supervision of the federal government, a milestone he celebrated in a tweet Saturday.
"Free at last, free at last, Thank God Almighty, we are free at last," Nagin wrote in a post on X, quoting Martin Luther King Jr.
"Today, after ten years I am free again. God is good. Thank you Jesus! Peace."

You have to admit he was talented when he first was mayor---a lot of people thought he could be president in 2008 or 2012, before Katrina

AG Barr ordered his early release with many others during Covid in 2020.
So he has been out of jail. If he served full time of 10 years he would be released now.

If he had a good record, yes he could have.
