I think his main issue is just that. Besides the guns and ammo, he lied to the Mexicans and said he had never been in Mexico before, when apparently he had crossed the very same border crossing 3 times before. Kind of throws a bit of doubt on his story that he got lost.
yup.
Again. You cross the border with guns, lie to mexican authorities and you can't figure out why you are in jail.
Fox can make all the stink they want. They aren't helping the situation. The Mexicans will just dig in now to make an example out of this guy.

3 Times at same crossingWhen you double-down on breaking the law with lying to officials, you aren't helping your cause. Yes, torture is bad, and I'd be willing to be there is another side to that story, too.

there are always 3 sides to every story.
yours, mine and the truth.

quote:WTH is that supposed to mean? The guy deliberately crossed the border twice to go to Mexico? BFD!

quote:The BFD is that he told the Mexicans he had never been to Mexico. He was booked in a hotel in Tijuana at the time of his arrest. I'd say that is pretty troublesome. Have also read that the weapons were loaded, which would have been breaking California law as well.

now your reaching.
sad really.
So tell me...why did the guy have loaded weapons and a room booked in TJ?
Seems at least suspect to me.

Read a bit about the firing of the lawyer.

So the lawyer made him lie to officials?
Convinced, against his own instinct, yes.

He said in his own words that he booked the hotel. He was going to stay the night, but it was hot and dark so he went back to his truck, which was still in America.
I posted a link earlier this morning. He may not be telling the truth, but it makes a whole hell of a lot of sense.
I have a feeling if this guy were their family of friend they wouldn't be do damn hard on him. He is obvious guilty until proven in innocent in their eyes.

If a mexican soldier rolled across the border with this many weapons...he's sure as hell be in jail.
For you guys to think anything else is...well...par for the course.
Evidently, this did happen this year on the 5th of June. Four Mexican soldiers crossed the border in pursuit of wounded suspects and "inadvertently" ended up in the U.S.
They were detained and released after 2 days.

No, they weren't.
Libs cry if we water board a terrorist in Gitmo, yet they give zero fricks if an American is tortured.

They were treated well and only questioned.

The guy will have his day in court. I've never judged his guilt or innocence, I've just pointed out some reasons why they didn't just let him go about his business.

Was the torturing of this young man necessary?
