President Trump said Friday he is considering signing a "brand new order" on immigration and refugees.

Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that issuing a new executive order "very well could be" a solution to having the order blocked by the courts.

"We will win that battle. The unfortunate part is that it takes time statutorily, but we will win that battle. We also have a lot of other options, including just filing a brand new order," Trump said.

The president, en route to Mar-a-Lago for the weekend, said his administration may be ready to announce their decision on how to proceed as early as Monday or Tuesday.

Make it tougher this time, so when the old one comes back, they'll be happy.

If immigration is truly as big of a security concern as he says it is, why is the Trump admin waiting any time at all to release a new EO?

You can't have it both ways. Either it's an immediate threat (warranting a 90 day ban) or it isn't.

The simplest solution while the original order is tied up in litigation. In fact, just keep issuing EO that the liberals will contest to force them to spend millions of dollars on legal fees.

If I had to guess, I'd say they were going to make this one air tight. You can't just whip that sort of thing up in a few hours.

Right, because our tax money isn't also wasted in the process.

He's probabaly waiting on Sessions to get in the seat and personally be involved in crafting this. And ensure they have a competent set of lawyers at DOJ who will actually defend it properly, unlike the shite show the last lawyer put on in the 9th Circuit.

i mean the 9th Circuit literally just issued its ruling a couple days ago

if they're going to craft a new EO, it's going to be based around that decision i'd imagine

Oh I understand it takes time and the trump admin has other things to accomplish. I'm just saying that if there were an immediate high risk threat, they would find a way to issue something, well, immediately.

It's kinda like:

WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE

Now excuse me why I play golf with Japan in Florida

or they learned the lesson of how their opponents will use (abuse?) the courts and are making sure the next one sticks. no reason to rush something out just for the sake of political expediency that will ultimately fail like the last one did. that wouldn't serve the purpose of protecting America, either

I agree with your pouin. I'm just suggesting that the threat level is being exaggerated.

oh i know what you're trying to get at, but it still doesn't make political sense given what happened the past week. assume that Trump and his admin truly think that the EO is needed for national security issues. rushing out another EO will just severely increase the risk of it having the same story run out, which doesn't serve the purpose of protecting the US.

the better "gotcha" is to go for the political talking point that will be developed about his incompetency, ie, "Trump showed he's not a good President because he already fricked up a major act as President that was a primary part of his campaign strategy. his admin is a joke and has no idea how to govern" etc

And this time with an AG in place, they won't have a craptoid derelict DOJ lawyer. It makes you wonder if: the DOJ lawyer on that phone call with the judges was an Obama leftover-- and he acted like Forrest Gump on purpose?

Watch this Video. 800 refugees have gotten in since the ninth took over as the executive role and stopped POTUS Trump.

Just from Syria alone, this is a matter of national security.

See the OSU terrorist attack.

Also: Why did Obama get away with banning the Christian refugees from entering America? They are not a terrorist threat...Yet, he let terrorist threats in. Explain this...

If he had two brain cells to rub together, he'd have done this the first time. The whole implementation last time was a shite show. Whoever advised him should be fired yesterday.
