The butthurt & fear among progressives is real. When Pres. TRUMP's policies start producing real results in the working class communities the union vote will split, and without a strong union voting block to back them the democratic party as we know it will be done.

Hopefully, that happens before the 2018 midterms, so the Rs can have a filibuster proof majority in the Senate and get control of 1 or more state legislatures.
