One gay man's conversion to conservatism.

Great article. People are seeing the light and the truth about the intolerant left

Worth the read.

The GOP is in a position to start getting half of the gay vote within the next 8 years. Sure that isn't a lot of people, but they are a very loud group.

I realized that, for the first time in my adult life, I was outside of the liberal bubble and looking in. What I saw was ugly, lock step, incurious and mean-spirited.

This line, from the article, describes a lot of liberals, myself included.

*ETA - I should say former liberals, or disaffected liberals.

As Reagan said, "I didn't leave the Democratic party; the Democratic party left me.

I can't even talk to most of my liberal friends anymore.

EVERYTHING is political, and everything is run through the same filter. They're all just so tiresome. I don't even want to talk politics with most of them, but it always goes there.

I never went over to the liberal side just bc I came out of the closet. I've had the cold shoulder, too. I don't talk politics with many of my fellow homos as a means of preserving friendships, but I've found many people who think like me or who love me regardless of what my politics are. I find I'm often able to point out facts they have that are incorrect. But politics, for many in the LGBTQIALMNOP community, is something to be worn on the sleeve and they can get super nasty when challenged.

Oh boy, we get a couple more gay folks and the left won't be able to call us homophobes who hate gay marriage.

Peter Thiel speaking at the RNC may have done more good than I thought.

I am leery of a long con troll, but if true, this is not a good sign for the left.

Didn't want to get thrown off a building by more peaceful Muslim immigrants, I guess.

i think this sentiment will continue for people who have considered themselves liberal, but don't want to go all in with progressives

Yeah, I have that same hope about libs someday accepting an honest difference of political opinion without hurling nastiness, but good luck with that. A few will, most won't.

Being a former lefty, you should see my facebook feed.

I'm one of the few they haven't dropped bc I haven't made a political statement on FB in almost a decade. They still think I walk lock-step with them. The things they post are some of the most vile, hateful things you can imagine. Many of these people are hitting their 40s and have just gotten more and more hateful as they have aged.

It's weird. I see the same thing. Liberals getting less tolerant and conservatives getting more tolerant like supporting gay marriage.

I find that interesting.

I don't believe this guy. Who would believe that liberals would be intolerant and shun another human being who doesn't believe exactly what they believe? It's just doesn't fit their M.O.
