If I was him, I'd leak Merrick Garland as the nominee and let the MSM run with it for a week, then announce someone else.

Democrats would go 100% all in on stopping any Trump SCOTUS nominee to replace Kennedy or a non conservative judge.

Kennedy is conservative, so that won't get them triggered. Now if something happens (Retirement/death) happens to Ginsburg....watch out.
