I did not see it but frankly it does not matter to me. Many of the diseases that plague us are self induced (many types of cancers, heart disease, AIDS, etc.)

Diabetes has a stigma associated with it given that it is generally considered a condition brought about by the sins of those stricken with it, and most people don't know the difference between type 1 and type 2 so they get lumped together.
The fact that the majority of those with diabetes are obese is a detriment to the cause.
