That the left has adopted identity oppression rather than class oppression is a serious, serious mistake. Because you're lumping whites ranging from dirt poor KY hicks to Williamsburg hipsters, and blacks from the Delta to educated professionals. These experiences are not the same, at all. And people know this.

Sports coaches have to appease black pro athletes to make their living. I have no issue with them taking this role.
If I was a college or pro coach, I would probably do the same.

I think you make a valid point, but some things are linked intrinsically to race/identity/sex.
For example, I've never been pulled over for driving while white. However, blacks from all socioeconomic classes are susceptible to it.

I didn't ask to be born white.
I also have no idea what it's like to be born as a man.
Or as someone who is vision impaired.
Each night I pray for forgiveness for many things, but my ethnicity isn't one of em.
I do all I can to be a good person to all people.
This stuff is getting ridiculous, and the impact of the perpetual guilt trip is just about gone.

When these people say "people need to feel uncomfortable in these conversations," what they actually mean is, "white people should feel uncomfortable in these conversations." If white's make a counterargument and mention problems with minority culture and communities, that is dismissed from the conversation. That's the problem. These people aren't interested in a two way conversation and have very little introspection or desire to recognize uncomfortable and inconvenient truths themselves.

I have been pulled over for looking like a particular kind of white guy - ie., long-haired, bearded, driving a heady vehicle. Profiling exists for a reason. I definitely had illicit substances on me, I just know how to talk to police (which is a function of class, not race).
Other than some cases of blatant dickheadedness by LEOs (thanks, IQ limits for officers!), a regular, law-abiding black dude has no worries. It's these instances that we should concentrate on - not ones where LEOs are going by SOP.

Well, I was baby when I was born and therefore I don't remember it, so I guess I don't know what's it like to be born white.
