quote:

Francis was asked about recent hurricanes, including Irma and Harvey, and if political leaders who do not want to work with other countries to stem global warming should be held morally responsible for future effects on the planet.

"You can see the effects of climate change and scientists have clearly said what path we have to follow," he said, referring to a consensus by scientists that global warming is caused by human activity such as fossil fuels.

quote:

"If someone is doubtful that this is true, they should ask scientists. They are very clear. These are not opinions made on the fly. They are very clear. Then each person can decide and history will judge the decisions," he said.

The Pope seems disinterested in actually being a pope

Vatican just stacks paper in the bank instead of using it to fight climate change or alleviate poverty...oh wait, i'm forgetting. he had a pizza party for some poor people when they canonized the Albanian hag.

Pope Francis should just stick to faith and morals.

I hope Catholics aren't happy with this man. I doubt he's even a Christian.

I love how lefty opportunists are using Irma and Harvey as evidence when we just had the calmest decade ever of hurricane activity.

It's called regression towards the mean, morons.

I asked this question before and I will ask it again: what coastal areas that were inhabitable when Inconvenient Truth came out are not inhabitable now?

I asked this AT LEAST 5 times the other day on this board and nobody responded.

I guess he feels we have a moral responsibility to do something about the problem, vice admiring it...

Seems like priests raping kids would be a more pressing concern for the Vatican

I was about to say...

History and present day humans will judge the Catholic Church for the centuries of rape and the coverups that destroyed so many lives.

Francis should be concerned about his flock instead of trying to fit himself into mainstream pop culture. You have concerns about science then start with contraceptives and the incredible amount of lives damaged by continuing to call them a sin.

The only thing that is dangerous to humanity is the warming of his priests on children. Tell him to stick with Catholic church matters.

He's South American Jesuit....they're all going to hell. They're Marxists in collars. John Paul II threatened to excommunicate a whole bunch of them in the early 1980's

If humanity "goes down",

seems to me it would be God's will.

So what's he got a problem with?
