Confirmed: Thomas Eric Duncan Came to the United States Because He Had Ebola
Thomas Eric Duncan aka Patient Zero traveled to the United States out of desperation. He knew that he had been exposed to Ebola, and knew that he could not get treatment where he lived in Liberia. He had seen a friend turned away from three hospitals, and then die of the disease.

How many who can afford the ticket will attempt to follow?

Every single one would try to come back for treatment. It's that or die in a rat nest.

Obama will not 'close the borders' on incoming flights from countries with Ebola outbreaks. To do so would change the narrative of open borders and amnesty for our southern neighbors. For whatever reason amnesty driven ideology reins supreme in Dear Leaders mind.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Friday called on the Obama administration to impose a travel ban on flights coming to the U.S. from countries with Ebola outbreaks.
Uhh, what about U.S. citizens in Liberia who no longer have a valid Liberian visa?
I'm sure Piyush thought of that, right?

It's the connecting flights that we have to really worry about, but anyone with a Liberian passport stamp should have to wait another 21 days after departing Liberia before being able to enter the US.
Some knucklehead that wrote a book on ebloa was on AC 360 last night and said it was our obligation and duty to care for/accept Liberians with ebola since we essentially founded Liberia because of slavery in the 1820's. I guess we should bring an epidemic to the US to atone for our sins from 200 years ago.

In fact I think there are very few direct flights (if any) from the Ebola stricken countries. So what is Jindal's point? Does he mean stop every flight coming in to USA
If only there were some system in place to keep up with who has been where. We could weed out the people who are most likely to be a threat.

Why would he come for care, and then wait for days after arriving to seek attention?

Knew he was exposed, but wasn't showing symptoms. Hedged his bet. Had he told truth, hedge would have been denied. Not that hard

Wherever their layover may be or in Liberia, Guinea, etc. I really don't care. You can go to these countries all you want but there will be consequences.
Of course, retards like you would love to have them going in and out of hot zones and exposing thousands of other people.
I'm sure you think the honor system they currently have for screening people is more than adequate

No of course not. Now that the disease is in the country and spreading rapidly, the Nanny State should actually come to all of our homes and force us to be screened. If you oppose this - then you are insane and want everyone to die of Ebola!

Bobby has found the issue he thinks will catapult him back into the 2016 horserace.

About Duncan being aware of his medical condition before he left Liberia, his former boss, Mr. Henry Brunson, 60, manager of SafeWay Cargo, a licensed agent of FedEx, agreed that Duncan knew that he was infected with the virus,
Wow. Sounds like ROCK SOLID evidence to me!
Its no surprise he lied on the form. If Liberia is anything like Mexico (and I suspect it is more like Mexico than the U.S.), most of those forms are poorly designed and would actually flag half of the travelling population. I was travelling home from Mexico once and lied on a form that was supposed to flag for some disease, I think swine flue. The questions were ridiculous like "Have you coughed in the past 7 days" ? At the time I was a smoker so of course I had! So rather than spend a couple more weeks in Mexico I lied and came home. Turns out I didn't have swine flue or whatever the frick it was.
THe bureaucracy in the vast majority of the rest of the world is far more insane and impossible to follow than in the U.S.

You must want Ebola to come and get us all. Its time for nationwide Ebola inspections of every person in the contiguous 48, and a shoot to kill order for anyone crossing the border into the U.S.
Otherwise we'll all be dead before the Bama game (which will probably come as a relief to Les Miles).

We can't stop flying to and from disease-ridden African nations! If we did that, somebody might think that we are Racist.
We'd rather be dead than be poorly regarded or thought to be racist in any way. Well, not me personally, but, I'm probably in the minority*.
* By "minority" I don't mean to be speaking in racial terms at all. I'm using the word solely to refer to myself being outnumbered by people who are not Racist.
By all means, let's ignore the Ebola threat, if it would be Racist to take precautionary measures against it.
I mean, maybe it's not even a threat ! Many informed and well-meaning African-Africans (as opposed to African-Americans) contend that Ebola does not exist! Who am I to argue, with my White Privileged arse?
If Ebola does really exist, we must consider whether it was invented by White Devils to harm African-Africans and African-Americans, as contended by Right Reverend and Minister Louis Farrakhan.
It would be wrong and Racist to dismiss his learned views out of hand. In fact, those who disagree with Minister Louis Farrakhan may do so out of pure Racism.
