Watching her confirmation hearing on Facebook Live, and it seems like every 3rd comment talks about how she should have never brought the flag down. Some are calling her a traitor.

Just crazy to me.

It always amazes me that the very people who are all 'Murica also love the flag of a traitorous army that tried to destroy 'Murica.

Btw, have the monuments in New Orleans been taken down yet? No hijack...simply curious.

I would've left the flag up myself but I can understand why she took it down and don't hold a grudge towards her for it.

She's a great conservative and has been a fantastic governor for South Carolina. I would take her in a heartbeat over Jindal and JBE.

Republicans shitting on her over a flag are short sighted idiots.

Indeed. It truly sucks that we are about to lose her.

Just my opinion, but probably because it was done as knee-jerk, feel-good gesture in response to a tragic event.

Had the flag come down at the conclusion of a thorough debate which found the merits to rest on the side of taking it down, so be it. But the reason it was done was essentially politics.

It may just be some lingering disappointment for giving into SJW thuggery.

it needed to come down. we are americans, and the civil war is over. it was past time for that flag to come down as it is for Mississippi.

But there was a debate.

A special session was called and the General Assembly debated quite passionately about it.

It amazes me that people want to pretty much erase important parts of history because some people might be offended by something that happened 150 years ago.

There's a huge chunk of people on the other side of your statement that need to be informed of this don't you think?

It represents our ancestors who fought for what they believed was right. You have to remember slavery was around long before the "racist south". We just get the rap for it.

the problem is the land it was being flown on is tax payer funded. i'm not black but it was bullshite that their tax dollars paid for a civil war battle flag to be flown on state property.

I'm not offended by it. I just don't get it. If you love this country so much, why do you also love a flag that was flown in an effort to create another country? It's just ironic.

This. And add to that these same folks have a known history of being offended by everything under the sun. So for me, its not only the flag being removed, its the bigger issue of catering to these idiots who will continue to demand more, more, more...and when you keep giving in to idiots, you end up with BLM groups out of control, blocking traffic, burning down buildings, and shooting cops.

Somebody correct me if im wrong, but wasnt the flag already removed from the capital and placed on a nearby monument? That was a reasonable compromise imo. But you cant compromise with lefties, because they are never happy and will keep asking for more. (see gun control for example)

But was it right for the flag to be flying on the grounds of the seat of government of a state of the United States?
