I’d likely feel equally safe around both or maybe safer around the tents because there are way fewer tents in Jackson Square than on Louisiana or St. Charles.

not everyone is scared of Tulane students.

Their purpose is to intimidate others into joining their cause.

According to whom? I interpreted their purpose to be garnering attention.

Do you interpret the other tent encampments around the city to have the same purpose? To intimidate others to joining their homeless encampments? Why or why not?

Thank you for proving my point. Someone explains how your stance is emotionally-driven hyperbolic claptrap and you somehow thing devolving into a nonsensical rant about constitutional freedoms and boomers and make wild, ignorant accusations of others is a competent response built on sound reason.

ok.

Or, to shorten it down, someone called your stance emotional
I must have missed that post.

Trying the old “I know you are but what am I?” on me, huh?

Really? You're startled? Are you literally shaking?!

You gonna' be okay? You need a therapist because a few shite posters on a LSU message board say "retarded."

Get grip on yourself. Grow up.

The tents at Mardi Gras housed people who prevented students from going to their classes and forced graduations to be cancelled?

" These 3 tents and the protesters that set them up are less dangerous than people celebrating Mardi Gras or tailgating at a football game." - 4cubbies

"Four officers were injured and 10 arrests were made during the clearance of an anti-Israel protest in New Orleans' Jackson Square." - Fox 8 New Orleans

Then you're an idiot. You're not ignorant, that would simply mean you lacked the knowledge. The knowledge is presenting itself to you, you just seem determined to not see it due to whatever leanings you have. That's idiocy.

quote:

According to whom? I interpreted their purpose to be garnering attention.

According to them and likely according to the four cops whom they injured when NOPD cleared them out. They are literally supporting a group which calls for the genocide of the Jewish people for no other reason than because they are Jewish. Do I need to post the video of the girl raped and killed by Palestinians on October 7th then having her naked corpse paraded through Gaza so people could spit on it and hurl rocks at it?

That's what your Jackson Square protestors support and you somehow have trouble believing they aren't out to intimidate others into joining them.

quote:

not everyone is scared of Tulane students.

Translation: "You got me and I'm too embarrassed to admit it so I'm just going to toss out the blanket 'you're phobic' response and hope this all goes away." Your response is sophomoric in its lack of depth and unoriginality. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they are afraid, no matter how desperately you need that to be so.

quote:

Do you interpret the other tent encampments around the city to have the same purpose? To intimidate others to joining their homeless encampments? Why or why not?

Again, with the ridiculous attempt to form some sort of equivalency. No one has stated "because they have tents...etc" That you thought this was a question worth being asked just underscores how lost you are on this.

quote:

Trying the old “I know you are but what am I?” on me, huh?

Truth is truth regardless of who says it first, last nor in-between. Just because you tried to pre-empt others by pretexting that any disagreement with you would be emotional doesn't magically make your stance somehow logical and/or objective, especially when you seem to believe that others can disagree with you only because they are emotional.

She's lying.

She wouldn't dare go walk down there among the tents.

Exactly. Just like his son leaving his laptop and his daughter leaving her diary. Each contributed significant diversions.

My grandmother tells me Jimmy Carter and Slick Willie had brothers who diverted a lot of attention.

The knowledge that has been presented to me by you is that I’m an idiot because you say so and I should be terrified of everyone in my community. Because I’m not scared of my neighbors, that makes me an idiot in your eyes.

Stay in whatever suburb you live in and rage online about tents in a city you’re too scared to visit.

You’re a small, scared man. Go ahead and get the last word. Maybe calling me stupid one more time will drive your argument home and you’ll garner more upvotes.

I explained why, interesting that you chose not to quote it as well when revering to your knee-jerk "because skeered" generalization. Go back, re-read and learn.

quote:

by you is that I’m an idiot because you say so and I should be terrified of everyone in my community.

Quote where I said that. Don't worry, I'll save you the trouble: I didn't. You hide behind that generalization because it keeps you from acknowledging the uncomfortable truth that your worldview is woefully naive (to the point of being idiotic because there's an obvious willfulness in maintaining it). Rather than taking things as they are, you choose to take them as you wish them to be so you don't have to change (and acknowledging the world as it is would indeed change you).

My work takes me down there quite a bit. When there I'm usually staying on Jackson Square. Unless you live on the Square, I'll guarantee I've been awakened by the street-washers at 4am-5am far more often than you have.

quote:

that’s not what they said their purpose is at all.

Did you interview them personally or is this more of your looking at the world through a Tyco Viewmaster? I'm guessing the cops just hurt themselves.

That's all you have. When someone points out how flawed your worldview is, you attack them in order to not have to recognize your own shortcomings. In this instance, that short-coming is to empathize with those supporting the killing of Jews. How very "final solution" of you, Frau Cubbies.

You can’t leave tents out all week long.

I used to live in mid city that has the biggest parade. That shite is up for that one Saturday, that’s it. And they get permits for these parades.

State troopers should already be tearing down the tents and pushing the so-called protesters out of the area. We don't need this commie bullshite to be on our turf!

I explained why,
but you didn’t. You made an assumption that doesn’t align with any stated objective of the people at the park Sunday. You lied and I refused to play along. I still refuse to play along with your dishonesty. If that makes me an idiot in your book, great.

Why specifically am I naive? Because I described the public safety risk posed by a wall of tables and tents vs a handful of sporadic tents in a park and gave an example of how the wall of tables and tents actually caused harm and terror vs the tents in JS? Please explain how that makes me naive. Be specific.

what does this have to do with anything, even if true? These people were arrested at like 7:15 pm.

Did you interview them personally or is this more of your looking at the world through a Tyco Viewmaster? I'm guessing the cops just hurt themselves.
this is big news in New Orleans. Lots of people who were there are speaking to the media about it. People are talking about this here. I don’t have to rely on the assumptions of an anonymous internet poster who claims to have been to Jackson Square for work before. I can listen to the words of the people who were actually there, including the bystander who has handcuffed then tased while handcuffed.

I live less than 3 miles from Jackson Square.
