I think women have a natural yearning for equality among their children. Moms spend the most time helping the weakest child.
My older brother had trouble with grades. He was smart but had reading problems. Mom tutored him and helped him with homework. Then I started school 6 years behind him and immediately started making straight A's.
I remember in 3rd grade she asked about my homework. I told her I had everything handled. She insisted on seeing it. Dad intervened on my behalf and told her "Have you ever heard of 'leave well enough alone'?"
She never talked to me about school again. It was wonderful.

Yes. What are you suggesting?

Equality has been achieved, and the outcomes aren't hat the progressives dreamed of.
No shite.
It's been that way forever...since Brown. Since the 80's - it has never been about equal opportunity but about unequal progressive promotion.

That disparate groups have varying gifts.

I would say that the term "human nature" refers to behavior and that behavior is learned, not coded in ones DNA.

People won't admit it, but a lot of the problems that go on at schools are due to bad parenting.
This is 100% correct. I have a few relatives that are either teachers or administrators. Some of the story's about parents are freaking crazy. It's almost like an entire population of feral children are being raised.
Another issue: the quality of teacher has gotten worse. One principal described them as "great facilitators, terrible teachers".

And you are wrong. Behavior is genetic. A lab puppy that has never seen water larger than drinking bowl will see a swimming pool and jump in without coaxing.
My shepherd has never seen a sheep. But from early puppy hood he started biting the hind legs of other dogs and small children to herd them to another room.
Little girls instinctively scream when surprised. Little boys don't. Parents do not teach 'screaming' class.
95% of people in prison are males. They are not taught 'how to go to prison' at an early age while girls learn macrame.

I could go on and on about government "benefits" but you get the idea.
Just as I was drunk enough to be refused service for another drink, I remember the guy sitting on the next bar stool, who was drunker than me, and he said this:
"Give me a fish, and I eat for a day . . . So give me a motherfrickin fish every day, motherfricker."
I think that this should be the new motto for the Dept of Health and Human Services.

Dogs have been bred for centuries to produce inherent traits. Humans are not dogs.

Link? I've got 4 girls and none of them scream when surprised. There are gender differences that somewhat affect how people see the world, but success and failure are the function of a series of choices throughout life that have nothing to do with sex, race, etc.

So are you of the camp that no one is born gay? That it is a behavior and it is learned?

Wait, you actually believe that inner-city children have equal resources to their suburban and exurban counterparts?
You ACTUALLY believe this? You're not just trolling us?

The left no longer wants equal opportunity, but simply DEMANDS equal OUTCOMES.
Problem --- we are NOT THE SAME.
Some people are smart. Some people are dumb.
Smart and dumb people have THE EXACT same opportunity, but smart people will normally have greater success than dumb people.
UNTIL --- we top pretending we are all the same. A good plumber can make as much or even more than a doctor.. Especially when you factor in the cost of education.
Yet this world wants to make us all doctors, when some people have 140 iqs, and others 82. IQ is NOT how smart you are, but your ability to learn.
SOME PEOPLE WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND PHYSICS, so why are we forcing them to college??? and to be paid for by whom exactly?
If this society will come to terms with the fact we are actually NOT THE SAME , and actually make it cool to go to a trade school or whatever.... things would be better.
People who are too dumb for college just fail and have debts, how does this help?

Public education at all levels is merely a daycare service with activities to attempt to keep the attendees occupied and give the administration the appearance of performing some sort of useful function so they can make a living and have their healthcare and retirement funded.
The majority of educational activities involve indoctrination into Marxist principles and the view that government is the be-all and end-all to life.

I agree that the concept of equity is detrimental. You either learn or you don't.
As a liberal, I'm probably in the minority when I say I support school choice and charter school policies. Public education in low ses areas is absolutely fricked.

and...banned
these people are idiots. i ended up wasting too much time on that stupid group anyway
i brought up stuff that i had called "memes of poverty" (b/c the issue was transmission of the memes within the context of poverty, ie, bad parenting). they scoff-laughed. then i brought up behaviors that are clearly linked to the lower class like smoking, obesity, etc
of course the last post i see is "Jacob said that if you're born poor you're going to be obese, smoke, and be a criminal"
i legit posted data about how being a single parent dramatically increases teh chance of your child ending up poor. "jacob is just over here trying to shame us single motehrs. i'll have you know my child is in private school and doing well!"
