It is to you liberals, that was the point of him bringing it up. It was to demonstrate the reporter wasn't a conservative shill as he contributes to the WaPo. He in no way tried to say the WaPo was credible, not even sure how you got to that reach, he was merely pointing out this particular correspondent couldn't be discounted as just a alt right journalist. It really wasn't that hard to follow, not sure how you got confused.

because every mention of WaPo on this board, by a large majority, is immediately discounted as fake, or has been right up until this thread, when it's used as a "see, the guy wrote for WaPo, too, so it's okay"...

So a Russian bank says they are being hacked by someone in the US to make it appear as if Trump and the Russians are in bed together? And y'all believe that? WOW.....I guess because Russian Bankers are notoriously honest....

I am not saying I believe it, but it is an interesting turn of events. I mean why would Alfa bank even care at this point? Why contact the Americans and ask for an investigation when the FBI has already said they found nothing? Why not let sleeping dogs lie at this point?
Keep in mind that the cyber security researcher who first discovered the "link" between Trump and Alfa bank computers said that he only noticed it because it appeared that the bank was being hacked. This guy is supposedly an expert in malware and botnets and he thought he was witnessing behavior like that which would occur with malware.
It wasn't until later that he found the bank "pinging" Trump Tower. He sent his findings (DNS logs) to his colleagues at various universities and security firms to get their opinion. One of those people contacted Slate Magazine who did the original reporting. It turns out that the lady who contacted Slate (a CS professor in Indiana) was a Hillary supporter, tweeted about her support, and donated thousands to her campaign.
Put all this together and it looks like a political witch hunt. Or maybe even a setup (false flag) from the start.
