Obama's Fake Legacy: Progress in the Black Community

“Snake-oil salesman” is the stinging label Princeton’s African-American studies chair, Eddie S. Glaude Jr.—who happens to be black—gives President Obama as he leaves the White House. Because Obama betrayed blacks.
Millions of white men and women voted for Barack Obama, a biracial president, in hopes that he would unite our country. Millions of black men and women voted for Obama hoping he would help them forsake disparate levels of poverty; teen pregnancy; single motherhood; absent fatherhood; and violent crime. Whites’ and blacks’ hopes were historic.
Turns out Obama’s dual presidency was historic. Historically bad.
Only wealthy whites and Asians notably improved their quality of life during Obama’s eight-year reign. On economic and social levels—American blacks slid the furthest. Even reality-denying Slate now bemoans a “rising” tide of “racial discontent” in America.
Today, our nation celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr.—a man to whom Obama often compared himself in his own quest for power. In 2007, candidate Obama announced his run for the presidency by invoking “King’s call to let justice roll down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream. …it is time for our generation to answer that call.”
He needed his black brothers’ and sisters’ votes—and won them with lofty promises—by 91 percentage points in 2008 an by 87 percentage points in 2012. Then, he twisted the knife.

When he said better off, he meant better off on government support and better off not owning anything and better off with lower income.

Honest assessment. Obama blew it. Worst man on the Planet to lead re the kinds of changes that we'll need to make it over the next 'hump' without major damage.
Obama was a disingenuous liar who employed the Chicago Politics version of leadership. And with a racial chip on his shoulder. And we have paid dearly; the whole World for that matter. Especially the ME and Europe (even more so in the near future).
It will take this kind of honesty to hopefully get us over that treacherous 'hump'. Praises to a very brave Eddie Glaude, Jr.

You don't say
He's right though, Obama was such an empty suit as president. Talked a big game, but got nothing accomplished.

Obama has been great for race relations. He's worked tirelessly to unite the country, and he'd never aggravate racial tension for political gain.

Good to see in the black community with academic credibility acknowledging the truth about Obama's Presidency and the truth is Obama was probably the most divisive President in U.S. history in terms of race relations and the most partisan politically relative to his administration as a whole.

Obama blew it.
He had a real shot at making a difference, and he was either incapable or unwilling to even try. His party deployed agitators and foot soldiers every election year to drive up turnout.

For all intent and purposes, Obama was/is a Manchurian Candidate with a specific agenda to transform/undermine the United States.

what will continue to trip the Left is simply, rhetoric aside, show the evidence of the works AND when does one cease funding assuming the intent is not perpetual dependence....in my mind, that is the current climate and is going to cause them fits for the time being. If DJT can refrain from tanking the basics while demonstrating even handedness the Dems won't sniff the WH, Congress and State elected Offices.
They are so pi$$ed off and rudderless it will take years to recover.

He was only interested in exploiting race for his own political gain. Shamelessly did so from jump street

“For the first time, there are more poor African-American children than white children,” Glaude Jr. recently told TIME. “What’s startling about that is that there are three times as many white children in America as black children.” Indeed, according to Pew Research Center’s July, 2015 report—for the first time since the federal government began collecting data—almost four times more black children live in poverty (38.3 percent) than white children (10.7 percent).
Wow. I'm really shocked I didn't know this.

And the supreme irony is that our Nation will be transformed in way that are "fundamental". Most of this *transformation* will be from technological advance; and our Citizens will be both victims and beneficiaries of said advance.
We, our Government, will indeed become arbiter of many essential goods and services that the Free Market Meritocracy has traditionally assumed. Barack Obama may have envisioned this coming transformation (many do), and believe himself (arrogantly so) to indeed be a visionary Leader...but for all practical purposes...he was more of a liability to what will inevitability be an EDUCATED CHOICE and WILLING transformation...as opposed to (Obama's) misguided manipulation of ignorant dupes and useful idiots.
He should have got up and walked out of Wright's Church the first day he heard that racist poison. Probably staid because he knew he could ride it to Political prosperity. That aside - assuming the Parallel Universe/Religious Paradigm is the Universal Axiom for Human advancement/evolution - reckon he'll get another shot. Hope I will. Nice to hope.
