Remind me, what is the total costs to date to insure 577k?
Supposedly 1.9T over 10 years. Divide that by 10 then divide that by total uninsured covered.
Then......

So just using the numbers we have now... And they will def change as more people come on board. But at this point, we are paying (if my math is right) 138k a year per new enrollee.
LOL. Even it the unicorn numbers the level of fail is just absolutely amazing.
If your insurance would've cost you $20K per year for your family, the govt would've been better off just cutting you a check to cover you for the next 7 fricking years!!!

quote:Hell. Even if looking at the TOTAL number of paid, you're about about $2K per enrollee which is absurd given that many of them are paying themselves too.

This is exactly why you have to research a candidate instead of just voting for the cool guy who makes late night TV show appearances.

Throw in the new hardships and there is no mandate.

FIFY. Republicans are on record saying they want to FIX it... not repeal.

What happens if I don't buy it?

The real problem is that these people don't have access to computers! They need to have a computer with free internet so that they will be allowed the same access that millions of americans have. We need for Obama to push this through so that everyone can have a free Apple/Windows computer with free interenet. Until then the system just isn't fair.

The problem with repealing obamacare is that there's no going back.
ok.
He's right. When has the federal government ever expanded greatly then shrank back to it's pre-growth state. Never. Too many people will bitch, moan, gripe and demonize for vulnerable politicians to backtrack fully. What we'll end up with is some sort of ACA Lite. All of the government over-sight and expansions on what must be covered, but none of the funding mechanisms (not even the failing one currently in place).

The problem with his statement is Obama Care hasn't TRULY been implemented yet.
So the question is: no turning back from WHAT?
Because what you are seeing today is just the birth pangs of Obama Care

So basically, create a law that FORCES 16 million to lose their health insurance, then claim success when those 16 million have NO CHOICE but to sign up for the very law that made them lose their previous plan!
ALL humans who defend this are morons!

It doesn't matter. Government is always loathe to give up power and the ACA is the largest power-grab we've seen in generations. If you think the Ried/Pelosi circus surrounding the passage fo the bill was insane, just wait for the one centered around any attempt at repeal.

Hence why I stated at the outset "single payer here we come"
Right now we are in the "spaghetti" of the implementation. So what exactly are we rolling back? What have we really implemented? What baseline do we repeal to?
Republicans are going to cave or do something monumentally stupid trying to "fix" this. The negative effects will be way overblown and the government powers are going to do everything they can to FIX EVERYTHING with the only "choice we have left": single payer.
It's stupid I agree. But pawns will be sacrificed for the checkmate.

You're probably right. i wasn't looking that far down the line but I should have been.

In case no one has mentioned it this week, I'd like to take this time to the American voters are morons and deserve what they get.

Obamacare seems like a huge burden on the American people to further a political agenda--and nothing more.
It has nothing to do with insuring people or actually helping anyone in need.
It's a massive vote buying scheme that we--the American people--get to pay for. F*ck this. Let the DNC pay for their political campaign next time.

Don't forget that they are also counting the people who signed up for medicaid as well.
