Seems a little high

quote:

Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and the two Roosevelts, Franklin and Theodore, have kept their lock on their positions as, respectively, the four best presidents in American history, according to a new ranking by 91 presidential historians.

Barack Obama took the No. 12 spot in his first time on the survey.

The poll, released on the eve of Presidents' Day weekend, is the third one conducted by the wonky public-affairs cable network C-SPAN over the past 17 years.

Roosevelts are entirely too damn high. Lincoln at 1 is a fricking joke and any list that doesn't have Jefferson in the top 4 is shite.

He resided over the obliteration of his party's power.

His largest domestic achievement is an utter failure that is being repealed.

His largest foreign policy achievement was a ludicrous, one sided capitulation to the world's foremost state sponsor of terrorism.

What a record.

I'm surprised they ranked him that low, considering the political leanings of most historians these days.

I understand the desire to make rankings like this, but it's basically meaningless to rank any president less than 20 years after the end of their presidency. We simply can't know the full impact of all the various policies and measures they've enacted in real time.

Apparently, being black automatically gets you ranked 33 spots higher.

Liberals write the history books. Never forget that.

I can tell you now no matter how many jobs we create and how much economic growth we have Trump will be rated near the bottom by today's historians.

List is invalid with LBJ in the Top 10. LBJ is a WOAT candidate, not a GOAT candidate.

fricking amen. His War on Poverty has done more damage to this country than just about any other program.

I think a lot of that will be determined by Trump, oddly enough. If Trump is a good/great president, Obama will drop like a rock. If Trump is a 1 term guy with an economic collapse, Obama will be cemented no lower than 12ish.
