War crimes do not apply to irregulars anyway. When did the Taliban, or Al-Qaeda, or ISIS sign the Geneva Accords?

As soon as we pump these guys for intelligence, whether they have been useful or not, they should be taken behind the building and shot.

He can get pardoned, but that SEAL was a piece of shite that brought shame to our country. We are supposed to be better than the enemies we fight.

Congrats on celebrating the release of men who murdered innocent people. Good to know we don’t hold ourselves to a higher standard.

Good God this is pathetic.

There is no such thing as an innocent Muslim in that part of the world.

ETA: Edited for clarification.

So rules of engagement mean nothing in the military? Using old people and middle school aged girls walking to school as target practice is okay with you? Sorry, but I'm siding with the other SEALS on his team who ratted him out on this one.

That’s just a flat out lie. I’m all for stacking bodies, but there are plenty of Muslims fighting and dying in the fight against radicals. I am friends with a man who risked his life many times as a counter-terror soldier in the fight against them. He is a Muslim and a good man.

ETA: I saw your correction, but the man I’m talking about is from over seas.

Leave the questioning to the historians. In the mean time, there's a war to fight and sometimes the innocent become victims.

A team of lawyers and senators suggesting this. At least Trump doesn't pardon on his last day like other Presidents. (Especially WJC pardoning Marc Rich and his loser crack-head brother.)

Did Obama pardon terrorists? He may as well have pardoned Bowe Bergdahl.

Sorry but I see quite a bit of shades of William Sherman in this particular SEAL and that just does not fly with me as Sherman was a barbaric and evil monster that fought a war not on the battlefield but by terrorizing their enemy's women and children.

Wow. What a narrow-minded pos human being you are. You clearly have no idea what goes on there or you’ve just watched too many bs movies glorifying war.

Sometimes I wonder what kinds of horrid human beings are associated with Alabama, but hen remember why I hate that place.

So far, NCIS doesn’t seem to have a strong case. There is missing evidence all over the place. Witness statements don’t seem to line up.

For the record, no I don’t want to see children and elderly die in war. But it’s war. You win by breaking the enemy’s faith in their cause. You do that by killing the combatants and whoever supports them. War is ugly. War is hell. That’s why is should be fought without mercy as to end it quickly instead of dragging it on for years that end up costing more lives.

Tell that to all the Tommies that were slaughtered at Verdun by an Aristocrat British Officer Corps, with their stiff upper lips, and their ridiculous belief in good form.

Have I seen it first hand? No. But my cousin, who was pretty much like a brother to me growing up, has seen that shite first hand. And I've had to deal with the fall out from it since he got back in country. He suffers from PTSD, has attempted suicide, and can't keep a marriage or family intact because the brain damage he received in a surprise ambush causes him to have violent episodes.

I also have been in the military for over six years now and work in a field that allows me to keep up with what goes on over there. Trust me when I tell you this...I have a better understanding of that shithole than you think.

Agree. Supposedly there is helmet cam footage that exonerates him in the case of the enemy combatant and the witness testimony is inconsistent. No, I don't want to see women, children, and the elderly shot at, but is there direct evidence of this other than team members claiming it--who might have something against him? He served 8 deployments, saved many lives, bronze stars with valor. He's served his time and received his punishment already in physical and emotional damage in my opinion. He deserves the pardon.
