WASHINGTON — The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, asked the Justice Department this weekend to publicly reject President Trump’s assertion that President Barack Obama ordered the tapping of Mr. Trump’s phones, senior American officials said on Sunday. Mr. Comey has argued that the highly charged claim is false and must be corrected, they said, but the department has not released any such statement.
Mr. Comey made the request on Saturday after Mr. Trump leveled his allegation on Twitter. Mr. Comey has been working to get the Justice Department to knock down Mr. Trump’s claim because there is no evidence to support it and it insinuates that the F.B.I. broke the law, the officials said.
A spokesman for the F.B.I. declined to comment. Sarah Isgur Flores, the spokeswoman for the Justice Department, also declined to comment.

A week ago, it gets reported that Priebus wanted Comey to denounce the Russian shite, and now Comey wants the DoJ to denounce the wiretapping shite? Weird.

Where's Trump's proof- he's the one making the allegation and frankly he could prove it easily simply be declassifying any taps that did exist. Why doesn't he do that?

Watch Chris Wallace show this AM. He interviewed Paul Ryan who said, he knew of the taps, and a report was issued post-election from all IC combined that said "No American was found" to be in collusion with Russians.
The evidence of that tapping is in that report. Of which, Trumps people has surely seen by now
They just wanted enough Dems to hang themselves before they threw out the bait

When Priebus approached Comey, it was blown up as "trying to squash or cover up" the Russian shite.
Comey approaching the DoJ is being covered as Comey is trying to stop Trump rather than "squash or cover up" the wiretapping. It's weird that 2 similar acts are covered entirely different, based on the media and lefty viewpoints.
