NY Senator believes gun "silencers" completely silence a shot

For those of you that believe movies where "silencers" only make a whisper there are tons of videos to show what a suppressor truly does.
People that get their info on how guns work from movies shouldn't write bills concerning gun laws. Some basic understanding of one goes a long way.

Dana Loesch keeps trying to make this argument, and I think it's a stretch.
I also think Gillibrand's reasoning for opposing suppressors is a stretch, but I'm not sure she said anything laughably false. Could a suppressor make witnesses less likely? Of course. I still think it's a dumb rationale, and she's playing on people's ignorance, but I don't think she's created some newsworthy error here.

For what it's worth the current legal definition is a silencer. We all know they don't silence a firearm completely but when you fill out your ATF form they use silencer.
