It's funny how the people who demanded more government
and installed more government now want the Leviathan to behave.

So you think the national guard was designed to handle immigration problems?
I think the national guard is designed to handle invasions.
No one bitched when they were called in after Katrina. Are they designed to handle post apocalyptic southern cities? They are our nation's last line of defense and I would not object to their use if Congress refuses to adequately fund border enforcement agencies.

What does this have to do with state's rights?
ICE is a federal law enforcement agency. Illegal immigrants are breaking federal laws. Are liberals too stupid to connect the dots here?
If LAPD has sand in their vaginas because of word choice maybe ICE should just use the word that all illegals shite their pants over:
Knock knock... LA MIGRA

Wayyy to early for any of that business. Those measures should only be used once the actions of these places start affecting the other states in a significant and directly traceable negative way.
The people of California made their own bed. The best thing we can do is not bail them out and let them sleep in it.

No. The National Guard is supplement. We need to have a rotational maneuver brigade and an aviation CAB on a NORTHCOM funded mission much like the DCRF mission that already exists, but without the CBRNE overtones. They need to be dedicated to illegal interdiction at the border and illegal round ups throughout the country.

California is as likely to leave the union as Texas was under Obama.

ICE enforcement agents are not police officers. I think a first grader can understand
Some of you need to educate yourself beyond whatever facebook told you to think.
What's next, are you going to say that Sheriff's Deputies are not police officers either because p-o-l-i-c-e isn't in their name?

Remember when the LAPD was actually becoming gang members aka RAMPART and basically rolled over during the Rodney King riots after they of course beat the man senseless causing the entire thing.....I member.

The reason behind ICE identifying themselves as police is to avoid people being able to claim they didn't know ICE was law enforcement.
This is very common with federal law enforcement agencies outside of the FBI, as the vast majority of the public thinks law enforcement when they hear "FBI". The same cannot be said when they hear "ICE".

I actually agree with LAPD on this. I was a career Probation and Parole Officer and I did not want to be thought of as a Police Officer. We did very different jobs in the criminal justice system. Immigration officers do not have regular police powers. They have specific powers that are unique to that profession. They should call themselves what they are.

am sure, that in the NPR mindset, ICE is the perpetrator in doing illegal things.
We know one person who did not hear the report or read the article.

One of my buddies used to drive up to construction sites, get out of his car, and put on an ICE cap, and record it. It was hilarious to watch all of the illegals scatter like roaches when he would walk up to the job site. Hilarious at least until he got shot at.
