Will bet they are academics or salaried docs that see very few pt's and envy those of us that make big money by busting arse.

The pediatrician's area of specialization deals with genetics and he does quite well seeing patients.

The oncologist/surgeon specializes in breast surgery and fricking mints money.

I have no idea what you make, bigshot, but I suspect these guys compare quite well.

I don't mean to hi-jack the thread with this single post that I will not follow up with another.

I a military man, and not a physician, but, I admire the physicians who excel at providing high-quality treatment to their patients. These are very hard-working people who have a gift, but the gift comes with conditions -- in order to be a great Healer, seems to me, one has to be a very, very hard worker.

I know about hard work. Successful and talented Docs really have to work hard for a long time to earn that talent and success.

Being a physician is NOT a "get rich quick scheme". The good docs really do work hard, and, I personally hold these dudes and dudettes in a little bit of quiet awe.

The best physicians that we have -- I wish I could give a medal to all of them.

See, this is the arrogant a-hole VOR that is the real VOR coming through.

Ever since Obama has proved to be a clownish, amateurish failure, you seem hurt and bitter -- acting out, perhaps.

Have you considered speaking to your Therapist about this observation of mine? I think it's time to do so, before your mental state deteriorates any further.

Just because you defended the clueless idiot Obama for so many years doesn't mean that YOU are a clueless idiot.

But, conversely, it doesn't necessarily mean that you AREN'T, thus, the wisdom of seeking advice from your therapist.

far as the two being "leftists", Champagne doesn't know shite about either of them. They're very bright, capable doctors and are very good people. They do really weird things, though. Like one of them likes to buy cool cars and the other one, get this, plays racquetball a lot. I mean they're fricking nuts, right?

Please tell me how many people these shitbags personally insure. I'll bet zero. Me? 12 to a tune of $85k/year out of my pocket. Just in my practice. Add another 30-40 from my other ventures and I am responsible for providing BCBS that qualifies as Cadillac plan to almost 50 people at zero cost to them. How bout your doc friends use their own money to insure some folks instead of joining fancy racquetball clubs or buying luxury vehicles (which are no doubt bad for the environment)? I'm sick and tired of self righteous liberal douchebags pontificating about how I should do more. Meanwhile, I'm fricking busting arse to do the right thing. And I'm the bad guy? I'll also mention that my lowest paid employee makes $11.50/hr with free insurance, dental, vision and 401k with profit sharing. I waive their co-pays and pay for any lab or other test done in house. My wife charges them cost at our pharmacy. My average office employee makes $17/hour in an area where the average salary is MUCH lower.

Now I ask again, what are you and your hypocritical doc friends doing? Hell, I won't even get in to indigent care or charitable donations.

Well, now that we've digressed into flat out name calling (yes, I used the term bigshot for the hog dude because anyone who touts his income on a message board is suspect as a complete joke of an a-hole), may I just point out that Champagne is a one trick pony who is a little odd.

the hog dude, of the smackover variety, seems to be a self-congratulatory blowhard.

Everybody feel better now?

Ask around. I put my money where my mouth is. I just get sick and tired of self righteous liberal blowhards espousing "what's right" while not doing jack shite with their own resources. I give away more than I spend every year so a cut in reimbursement won't affect my lifestyle. But wrong is wrong and Obamacare is a flaming shitpile.

Pot calls the Kettle "black".

You seem like a self-congratulatory blowhard of the highest order.

Just because I call you out on is doesn't make me odd -- I just dislike self-congratulatory blowhards like you.

I'm sure you have some qualities that I might admire. You should probably present those qualities more prominently. You'd seem more mature and professional.

You say that I'm "odd". I guess that I am "odd" in that there are not many people like me. There just are not that many career military officers anymore, in this day and age. We represent a very small percentage of the population, and, for the most part, people don't understand who and what we really are. I have very advanced academic credentials, but, so do many of my fellow career officers.

Is your arrogance so extreme that you are unable to realize that Smackover's credentials in this area are absolutely superior to yours?

What makes you think that your buddy-doctors told you the absolute truth about their personal opinion of Obamacare?

You say that they love it, because you think that you heard them say so?

I first question whether they were being honest with you, and, then I question whether you heard them completely accurately.

I question whether these docs who are supposedly good buddies with VOR have told VOR their true and complete views.

I wonder whether these docs would hold the same views in a private conversation with you.

you seem to be a crazy person or at least a fanatic.

and if you read my posts carefully, i didn't really say they were huge fans of obamacare, per se, but that they favor some form of universal healthcare and weren't adamantly opposed to the idea of obamacare.

VOR, what has happened to you?

You were once a respected and thoughtful voice of reason around here, but, those days are long gone.

You've completely disintegrated into -- well, I can't think of the right words, but, it's the total opposite of a Voice of Reason -- and I mean total opposite, because lately you seem devoid of reason.

And these votes were pre-Tea Party.

But according to some on this board, there is absolutely no difference between the Dems and the GOP ...

jesus, would you go back and actually read my posts about this subject. i just mentioned that i knew doctors who weren't totally opposed to obamacare. i then responded to the (predictable) unreasoning (or "not reading my post" reactions by a couple of people). personally, i think obamacare is a cluster frick at the moment but will be amended over time. however, healthcare legislation in some form is here to stay. as fricked up as people argue that obamacare is, the status quo was doomed to implosion in just a few years.
