I kinda doubt they have the capability.

The having been said one retired military man said that an abnormal number of subs and ships was being sent out to....well, just out, away from America over the past few months. He theorized that this was to keep at least some part of the US gvt (its military) functioning and able to respond if something happens to the contintental US. I don't recall who the speaker was, it was on one of the cable talk channels about three weeks ago, sorry, no link.

NK doesn't have the capabilities to strike the U.S. in any capacity

Come on man, for real???

LMAO.

This from the country that uses video game animation for its propaganda?

Unreal. I wish a nano drone would fly in Kim Jong's ear and detonate a nano nuke.

You know it's blatant war propaganda when pure speculation is disguised as imminent death and destruction.

Seems to me the Idiots who didn't vote for Trump are the only ones making a big deal out of this.

Can you imagine if they used a little of their money and "talents" on helping their people what NK could be? At least a little bit nicer. I've never understood why countries that are dirt poor and underdeveloped and needs help, spend what little resources they have on atomic bombs and war, instead of trying to develop economically and being friendly to get help.

Even if true, they'd still need a delivery system and nothing of consequential size would ever make it through to US soil.

And if they do, I assume we have a way to destroy their satellites prior to any attack.

As long as we take all of their missile test attempts seriously we'd be fine. Which I assume we are.

I don't see how we wouldn't have a BMD destroyer with SM-3 missiles in the Sea of Japan. They are constantly in the Mediterranean.

They can easily knock anything out of the sky before it enters the midcourse phase or suborbital flight. It gets tricky after that but is still possible.

I haven't seen anything showing NK has that long range BM capability yet though.

Edit:

didn't actually read article, says using satellites already in orbit.

In that case we could shoot them down if we knew, if we didn't then I guess it could work if we left them alone. That's some serious tech for a country struggling in medium range BM tests though

What if NK were to load it on a container ship and ship it here? I am sure that the vast majority of containers entering the US every year and never checked.

And if it was checked it us usually done here (on our soil, in port). Put a tamper switch on the door and if someone opens it to inspect it, boom. But if it was not detected, load it on an 18 wheeler and ship it to Washington DC. Kinda like a trojan horse.

Another reason to ship it in is that it would be to make it harder for us to determine who sent it here? Was it home grown wackos, ISIS, Iran, or Al-Qaeda, or any other number of people who would love to attack us.

North Korea is not capable of an EMP strike. More than half of their military equipment is so old that there is doubts weather it will actually work.

They are, and a significant non-nuclear EMP would still require a large chemical explosion. Any container holding the required chemicals would never make it here.

If it were that easy to ship illicit or dangerous materials into the US from abroad, cocaine would be $25 a kilo by now.
