My only point to all of this was that some had this fake outrage about how this wasn't political and has no place here when they are the same ones upvoting threads from the "other side of the coin" so to speak.

So...what is the point of this thread? is it to discuss the incident or is it to point out hypocrisy on the board? If it is about the incident, then we all have agreed.

If it is to point out hypocrisy, then it is not a political subject.
I think everybody knew why the thread was created, thus the response.

So an explicitly racially motivated attack by a black person on white person is non-political to you?

Yes. Do you want me to be outraged? Should I feel victimized?

Yet, we blast the left when they say this about Messicans and Mooslims.

Then why does the left get so upset about "The Wall" or about immigration policy?
Nobody has a problem with putting this guy away for a long, long time.

Who's not trying?

Sure, let's talk about it. This is the same group of people we legally marginalized in society up until 50 years ago. There's people alive today who were beaten and served jail time for simply drinking out of the wrong water fountain. They weren't provided the same opportunities as their white counterparts and were hung in parts of the south for trying to vote. The African American community has come a long way considering all the barriers they have faced. We really can't complain about the crimes AAs commit when the same opportunities weren't offered for the longest of time. Our society forced many of them into poverty and crime is just a symptom of that. We are paying for our forefathers' crimes.

You want to do a cost-benefit analysis?

Trust me, you don't want to do that analysis. You'd have to count in all the free labor hours we forced African Americans into and then all the shite we made them go thru after we "liberated" them. They practically laid the foundation for this country.

I'm not the left. Ask them.

But my issue with the wall is that it's going to create a tarrif war with Mexico and food prices will go up as a result. It's also not needed in order to reduce illegal immigration. Enforcing housing and employment laws while making entitlements exclusive to citizens is the way to get rid of illegal immigrants. Illegals won't come if they can't work or find a place to live. They also won't stay if they can't redeem welfare benefits for their children.

The wall won't stop the drugs. It's not even debatable.

He lives in a bunker. He's angry.

He is enlightened but will not share his enlightenment.

He is never wrong. His opinions are the only opinions that have merit.

It's his thing. Engage him and you'll never get an answer. If you do, I'd be shocked.

Well, we could always discuss the rampant hypocrisy on the board. But, in fact, very few seem to agree that the news item is political in nature.

The hypocrisy on the board is not a political subject, though. The political subject is that a white guy went to New York to kill African Americans. We all agree that he should be tired and put away or worse. Why are you arguing with people that agree with your thoughts on the stated thread?

I haven't made the suggestion that one should or shouldn't be outraged. I apologize if I unintentionally made the implication.

I would hope not.
