.... the only significantly large private colleges in Georgia are Mercer, SCAD, Emory, Berry, Oglethorpe, etc.

What type of funding does the state give private colleges?

I'm pretty sure Emory is a better college than anything Florida has

And SCAD is one of the best art schools in the world.

Won't pass.

If it passes, won't be signed into law.

If it's signed into law, we have better lawyers than the State (plus most of our funding is Federal anyway).

This isn't the hill they want to die on.

I think Georgia residents that go to private colleges within the state benefit from the Hope Scholarship program. I don't believe qualifiers get full tuition paid for, like they do at public institutions, but they do get a stipend that is equivalent to in state tuition at said public institutions. If I'm wrong about this, then by all means, someone better informed speak up and let us know.
Anyway, I am wondering if the legislature might make a move to revoke Hope money from Alinskyite cesspools like Emory, and Black lives matter dumps like the AU Center schools. That would just be a big fat hoot.

Approx. $1,800 per year per student. Easily fixed by dipping into our endowment, soliciting extra donations, or admitting fewer GA residents and more out of state students.

This will in no way hurt Emory, but go ahead and have your moral victory.

What legal grounds does a private school have to state funds?

I understand they get them now, but if the state chooses to end that by proper legislative means, how would Emory have any recourse?
