ok i may need to make/bump this thread every time a major attack happens and all the "WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT ALL MUSLIMS" shite starts up. this is a handy guide on how to use basic words to describe different groups within the Muslim community
here is a very brief description of the 4 groups
1. Muslims - these are people who believe in the tenets of Islam. there are more than 1B on earth
2. Islamists - a subgroup of Muslims who believe that Islam should merge with state power to regulate societies
3. Jihadists - a subgroup of Islamists who believe in using force/coercion to install an Islamic state
4. Terrorists - a subgroup of Islamists who use terror attacks on civilians and non-combatants to further Jihadism

Do the "tenets of islam" condone violence in the name of islam or killing an infindel who they see as a threat to Islam? Please define this better.

obviously not all of the groups in OP support this, which is why there is a distinction
if your point had any merit, they'd all be Jihadists
since they're not, and that's a small subset of Islam, your "point" doesn't make any sense

If there is an alligator in my house, I'm not really worried about whether he's the kind that subscribes to regularly consuming human flesh or just tacitly supports it. He looks and acts like the rest, so he should get the same treatment as all of the rest.

A small % of 1.5B people is still a lot of people

just like how most modern Jews don't believe in many tenets form the Old Testment, or how many Christians ignore similar parts of their bible

If you find yourself on a 'watch list', you got to go. How many of these attacks are from people 'on the radar'?
Simply starting with this would eliminate a majority of attacks in the western world.

Maher cited a poll where all Muslims polled gave a 50-60% answer of "yes". Should leaving the religion be punishable by death. I believe the poll was taken among European Muslims. Islamists are the group that can be further broken down I believe.
