I've been saying for years that the collusion between the MSM and the Dems was the single greatest threat to democracy in our nation. I don't see how free nation can exist without a free press and we do NOT have a free press. The MSM picked sides a long time ago and they chose the Democrats.

The MSM carries water for the Dems in every story and on every issue. Their M.O. is to give scant coverage, or no coverage at all, to any story that could potentially be detrimental to the Dems. And when they do cover something, they explain, interpret, qualify and quantify so that every potential negative story is ameliorated. Yet when any whiff of controversy arises in connection with the Repubs, the MSM starts probing like a proctologist on crack.

I was not a Trump supporter in the primaries, although I did vote for him in the election. Most of my objections to him still stand. But my God we need this guy to stand up to the Left and their lackey lapdogs in the MSM or this country is screwed forever.

So God bless Donald J. Trump and God bless America.

The much bigger deal is the fact that people choose to become journalists IN ORDER TO make the other side look bad.

Go to ANY respected journalism school and interview an average student/professor and they will say that their main motive is not to bring light to truth, but to bring down republicans.

The fact of the matter is this: There is not a single left wing journalist in America who would choose to break a huge, earth-shattering story if it was about a politician on their side.

That's a huge problem imo because journalists by and large come from big cities where liberalism reigns.

Indeed. And if I remember correctly, about 90% of the students in journalism schools lean left.

Journalism is dead . . . has been for some time.

This has been proven true especially in the past week or so.

They will not ask the obvious questions about the wire taps.

Journalists should be looked at with the same skepticism as used car salesman and lawyers with billboards.

Everybody forgets that both the Whitewater (Clinton scandal) and IRS (Obama scandal) were first covered in any serious way by the New York Times. (There had been, years before, some very inconsequential reporting about Whitewater in Little Rock newspapers that everyone forgot about).

The NYT only ran with White Water because they supported more liberal candidates like Jerry Brown and Tom Harkin in March of 1992. When Clinton wrapped up the nomination they dropped WW to attack the GOP leading up to the general election.

Just 3 days ago USA Today ran a story about Sessions with the cut line "More GOP congressmen call for Sessions to resign." I was fascinated to see who these people were. None were listed in the article. I guess we're just supposed to assume USA Today is telling the truth.

Not dead. It just morphed into advocacy for one party and demonizing the other.

Sean Spicer and Trump clearly disagree with you.

They don't believe in a free press. They believe in a safe space for Trump where he controls the media's access to the White House.

If Trump and Spicer believed in free press, they wouldn't exclude credentialed media outlets.

It's cool. Spicer doesn't know his values or what he stands for, so why should you. In mid December when asked about the press, he stated:

"We have a respect for the press when it comes to the government, that that is something you can’t ban an entity from.” He added: “I think that is what makes a democracy a democracy versus a dictatorship.”

He's certainly reversed his stance since President Feelings took office.

However I believe by definition, with how you accurately describe it's current state, journalism died. Journalism can't morph into any other venture than reporting factually and unbiasedly or it ceases to be journalism at that moment.

90% of mainstream media in the U.S. is controlled by 6 corporations. In 1983, there were over 50.

Who owns the media?

I regret I have but one upvote to give.

Same here. I don't think Trumpis the candidate many wanted, but he may be exactly what we needed. I can't see any other republican that would whither and continue standing up to the press and democrats the way Trump is.

So God bless Donald J. Trump and God bless America.
Hes what we've got like it or not.
