I would answer your question, but then it could be said we were conspiring against him.

Sounds to me that you, like the rest of the conspiracy kooks in this thread, have already made up your minds.

It's just fishy that over the past few months, there has been a lot more news coverage about Muslims committing violence against others in the name of their religion.
I agree. It's almost like they want you to believe that any and all crimes are committed by Muslims. I wonder why they'd want you to think that?

it's not far-fetched to assume it was religiously motivated.
Not if you believe in outlandish conspiracy theories.

That's a far cry from saying that the government is hiding UFOs in Area 51 or that the US government was responsible for 9/11, as some conspiracy theorists assert.
While I agree, those are some pretty crazy conspiracy theories, I wouldn't agree that the conspiracy theories flying around this thread are a far cry from that.

I have to hand it to you TX, the way you've gotten people to engage with you on this topic is some excellent trolling.

hm, you need more than one person to have a conspiracy. You know, to "conspire" together?

Colonel, what about the attack earlier this week when a jihadist intentionally ran over some Canadian soldiers? You think coincidence?

I'm not rushing to judgment on "this is it" with regards to ISIS jumping on Canada, but I am reserving judgment. These Islamist connections and the nature of today's target are troubling.

Why go back and forth with that guy?

His form of conspiracy is a secret cabal of government/ business types caused 9-11 and all the subsequent wars and that Islam was just a convienient scapegoat to mask the TRUTH.

Now he's playing gotcha where he tries to intermingle his implausible, kooky conspiracies with more plausible, non- fantastical operations amongst non-shadowy groups who have publicly declared war on the West.

My brother, I think this is more in the line of inspiration rather than direction. Until a series of connections can be made I do not believe that they are operating in concert with each other. If they are they are doing a very poor job.

I agree, but the fact remains, they were both "radicalized" Muslims, and Muslims gonna Muslim.

Perhaps.

I don't think they have to be. Perhaps this grassroots "non" organization is just what the Imam ordered - they can't be linked together and they can't be rolled up by Western counter-insurgency agencies.

True - if they are working in concert, it would have been much better to synchronize their attacks to occur nearly simultaneously - even if they aren't going to mass, to maximize terror.

At this point, as an outsider with some background in the business, I would consider them presumptively separate attacks by "grassroots" jihadists, but I would be working on confirming or denying that hypothesis, because we experienced all sorts of decentralized, poorly coordinated attacks in Iraq and Afghanistan - and that fact, alone, didn't make them "lone nuts".
