MSNBC interrupted SoS hearings with breaking news on fake news.

I was waiting for someone else to start this post - but they didn't. Perhaps I heard it incorrectly.
But MSNBC interrupted the introductions to report that
- The 2-page addendum was not briefed to Trump.
- The contents of the addendum were completely unsourced
- It was provided as an example of 'fake news' should the question arise.
NOW - did anyone else hear it that way??? If I heard that correctly, that was the biggest slap down of CNN I have ever seen.

You know what is so wrong about 'Breaking News"? It is that we don't know if it is news that is researched or just thrown out there.
Edit: Possibly the reason for the shoddy state of national news of Trump is because Trump has taken MSM out of the picture.

Brokaw on MSNBC this morning stated that he and a Foreign Correspondent had been working for 6 months to verify a Trump story that had been making the rounds that was started by an opposition research firm. They found nothing. Brokaw said the NBC investigation was done because the rumours were fantastical and no credible source could be found for verification. Brokaw also stated several organizations knew of the rumour but wouldn't touch it.

Nobody has stated that was part of the "2-page" addendum - have they?
All I know about it is what has been posted on TD. no independent research on my part at all.
I am particularly curious about that last statement myself - that is what I thought I heard. Was hoping for substantiation or rebuttal.
I am sure they reported that the addendum was not briefed to anyone.
And I am sure they indicated that the contents were unsourced.
The part about the 'example' was what I was really asking about - seems very unusual or inappropriate to me.

Yes I heard that - and it is difficult to believe that Trump's campaign had not heard these rumors also.
But Tom was clear - there was no substantiation to be found anywhere and they had looked very hard.
