If we have to lock up our guns, they should have to lock up their weed....for the children.

I've never heard of pot enhancing violent urges unless it was laced with PCP. Maybe I'm the last to get the word on that.

5-As long as legal weed is more expensive than its tax-free illegal stuff, there will always be a black market.

That would be an argument to make everything illegal, then.

It wasn't "pretty benign" to the two people who died.....or to their families.

Weed cookies don't kill people. Google it. Sounds like the dude on the balcony had issues, people have been smoking pot for centuries and not jumping off of balconies, it's bushleague to try and associate the two.

Cigarettes, guns, alcohol, cars, and the sun kill more people than these two "pot blamed" deaths. BAN THEM ALL! THEY KILL PEOPLE AND IT MAKES THEIR FAMILIES ALL SAD!

This shite's weak. I'd love to see links for all of them.

I was in Aspen this last weekend and bought weed legally for the first time.

I paid 16.37 in taxes on a $90.00 sale. I'm sure they're making a killing off of this.

Coloradans are pretty proud of it and they should be.

God bless Colorado.

More states would need to follow Colorado's example and not Washington's for this to work. CO had medical dispensaries in place for years before total legalization and it allowed for an infrastructure to be in place and running by the time it was legal. Regulation models were already in place as well.

Washington is scrambling from a regulatory and infrastructure standpoint because they jumped right in.

I don't know how prices compare, as I don't partake, but what would that $90 purchase cost you in a different state? Same quantity and quality.

How much did 90$ get you?

I'm starting to feel the same way about marijuana legalization as I do gay marriage. shite doesn't affect me at all, so just legalize it

It would cost less in NOLA but then I'd much rather walk into a clean place of business, and deal with a nice sales person, than have to go to some guy who's a friend of a friend and deal with all that. I'd much rather pay for a legit option and I think there's an enormous market of people like myself.

A gram of top notch, locally grown, organic bud. A gram of wax concentrate. A pipe.

I tend to think of it as Darwinism doing what it does best.

Do you honestly believe weed was the causal contributor to those instances you posted earlier?

That's why I was asking. Gauging what kind of premium people would be willing to put up with knowing they dont have the other risks.

I think it's easy to say people will always go to the black market if it's cheaper, but that's lazy thinking. Not everyone is a hardened criminal that doesn't care about the risks involved in the black market.

All this stuff is really interesting to me from an economics standpoint.

Infographics, while cool, aren't going to sway people over the age of 25.

I passed 25 almost 20 years ago and it's probably been almost that long since I smoked marijuana, nor do I have any desire to smoke any today even if it were legal here. Having said that, I'm still 100% in favor of it being a legal substance that any fully functioning adult should be able to legally purchase and consume. The only thing I'd say is that it should be kept from minors and people who are high should not be out on the roads or operating heavy equipment. Past that, I have 0 issues with pot.

So just treat it like alcohol?

I'm down.

I think that's the best course of action. Treat it exactly the way alcohol is now.

Pretty much this, although I've never tried it. I've seen a lot of mean drunks, but I've never seen anyone smoke a joint or two and decide it's time to kick everyone's arse.

Good.

It's time to end the War on Drugs. Vices are not a crime no matter how much social conservatives wish it to be so.
