How so? My point is that the past has little to do with the present when it comes to character or actions..in fact in many instances--like aging rock stars stuffed into spandex--they live on past glories.

That's not why Trump called him out. Lewis said Trump was illegitimate in his eyes because of the Russian interference in the election. Trump proceeded to say Lewis was "all talk" and his district was "crime-ridden" and "falling apart" - neither of which is true, but Trump and his followers are to ignorant to know that.
