Is he going to have real power or did he have to acquiesce to the arrangement McCarthy had where 8 can remove him?

If he bends the knee to the Dems, then like McCarthy, he will have to go.

I know how it went down.

Livingston should have had the backbone and the FULL BACKING of his party to tell him to frick off with that shite. He didn’t, of course.

The party actually found a guy who could and would, and a lot of them can’t stand it.

wait until Jayden Daniels graduates - you guys gonna see what Brian Kelly is all about.

and Pete Jenkins cant stay there forever

And BTW, Mike Johnson is the most impressive congressman I think I have ever seen in my life. I really like how smart he is, well spoken, seemingly honest...

You will need to be forgiving of any pragmatic decision-making he will undoubtedly be forced into at some point as SOTH. Purity tests to the extreme are uncalled for..

I like Mike.

I know Mike personally (my wife taught two of his kids and we go to church together). Class act, solid Christian who tries to live out his faith, has tact and diplomacy, grit when needed very smart and is presidential material IMHO

I’m legitimately happy for him.

He’s going to do a great job. He’s a perfect choice.

The republicans do not want to elect a speaker of the house. McCarthy was ousted because he twice stopped the government shutdown. The republicans are the chaos conference.

Like yours truly, Mike is a Captain Shreve Gator and an LSU Tiger. How could I not like him?

Geaux Mike.

Why do you hate accountability though?

I don’t mind accountability. But what can he really do if 8 RINOs can remove him from his position?

He was never elected speaker, just nominated.

Livingston was unopposed and was 100% a rubber stamp away from the gavel.

Like consummating a marriage yet not impregnating within the same engagement.

The Speaker doesn’t choose the majority leader.

In practice, yes they essentially do.

New York Times, WaPo, or The New Yorker with the first hit piece? Friday or Monday?

Steve is going nowhere, he and Mike Johnson are extremely close. Scalise was already in congress for eight years when Mike was elected and he mentored him.
