Probably, but I hope not. I think Newt could actually reign in Trump a bit.

Either that or their confrontational styles make it worse. I could see it going either direction, but I guess that would depend on any power struggles within the administration.

I'll admit I don't know the average but as to "norms" it feels like we are in store for a TON of turnover for an initial 6 months

When was the last time this guy had a scoop that turned out true? Hasn't he missed everything for the last few months?

Yes force out Preibus, it will make it easier to get the establishment Republicans on board for impeachment.

I've seen some NYT and WaPo people suggest Trump is considering Tom Barrack and Ruffin and some others

Newt should have been Chief of Staff from the get-go, steering the ship and getting rid of the shitheads Obama left behind.

Probably, but no other Republican (excepting a certain disgraced ex-Baylor administrator) is as experienced in dealing with the ins and out of impeachment.

Gingrich is not who we think he is!!

quote:

A more reliable (and honest) analyst would point out that Gingrich is considered toxic by a significant number of genuine and informed conservative Republicans because they remember he was the “chief strategist” for the “Republican Revolution” that ratified much of President Bill Clinton’s Big Government revolution, in particular NAFTA, the World Trade Organization (WTO), and illegal alien amnesty. Gingrich and his liberal-left, internationalist supporters, however, know that most voters will not remember Gingrich’s record, but will be mesmerized by his rhetoric. LINK The always glib and glabrous Gingrich has reinvented himself more often than rock diva Madonna and more radically than Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner. He moves back and forth with seamless ease across the political spectrum and across bipartisan lines, denouncing liberal Democrats on the one hand (to the glee of conservative Republicans) while simultaneously on the other hand working with Nancy Pelosi, Al Gore, Barack Obama, Al Sharpton, Howard Dean, and others of the same ilk, helping promote their Big Government agendas.

Let me rephrase that, Newt will help focus Trump. Trump is still in bruiser campaign mode. Newt can help Trump put his energy in the right place. It's like teaching a lab to retrieve in a field with decoys.

Newt is capable of turning this mess around.
