This is so stupid. But I will say that racism and discrimination in the 50s 60s and 70s does have consequences

Yes it did! Court ordered racism in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s!
Racism is just as wrong no matter the color of the victim's skin.

Most victimized group in the California education system: Asian-Americans!
Member their racist crimes in the 50s, 60s, and 70s?!
Me neither!

That might be overstating things a bit. The groups you mentioned were lynching. Tangerine is only talking and giving his opinion. We may not agree with his opinion, but he hasn't killed anybody yet.
, vast majority of KKK members never hurt a soul. The vast majority of Southerners in the 18 hundreds never owned a Slave. That still doesn't mean they weren't racist as frick. Tangerine would fit right in with them

Perhaps her husband should take a second job with the California Highway Patrol and donate his earnings to the school.

As a group they did and you compared him to the group.
I would also say that the majority advocated violence against them....I have not seen that from Tangerine.

Stop making me defend Tangerine!

Then why do you constantly play that role on TD?

The sad thing is, that California isn't the only place this happens. It is all over the country.

I think what you mean to say is that these policies intended to remedy racism in those decades need to be updated?

I left NYC years ago partly because of these types of stupid policies. Screw the tax base and you become Detroit.....

My parents moved out of California in 1976 because of these laws. We lived 1 block from the elementary school in canoga park and I would have gone there for 1st and 2nd grades. For 3rd and 4th grade I was to be bussed to east LA and 5th and 6th I was to be bussed to Northridge. Both schools 30 miles from home.

We moved to Colorado and all my schools were walking distance.

That is not what I meant to say. But I do agree with that 100%

My statement that racism from decades ago has consequences is 100% accurate. I am not saying you have to like the consequences, but there are consequences. Shoot, OP story is a prime example

Political actions are not "consequences" unless you attach the words political vengeance to them.

If you step on a rake the consequence is that you get smacked in the face with the handle. For you - a certain amount of people must be smoked in the face whether they stepped on a rake or not - just to 'even up the playing field' because of a lot of people who never learned from the mistakes they make as youths, or were taught by their parents.

"Consequences" in your case always amounts to political retaliation. Now - those ARE the consequences of continuing to elect DEMs to positions of authority.
