What are the numbers? It was costing taxpayers roughly 500k a day for security for her and Barron in NYC. Roughly $181 M a year.

Not just that. Basically high security for Barron for several times a day for school trips and security while attending school. All their meals are heavily secured as well and tested along with the presidents of course.
Because of the very high foot traffic in NYC they need a lot more security for basically everything.

So what is your point? To secure any one serving as President and their family costs money. Whether they play golf frequently, go to their ranch or Mar-a-lago.
