the GOP plan is to avoid going on record re the coming castration of Medicare by Ryan's House.
reconciliation. no vote.

tell your mom and grandma you supported the end of her medicare plan.

Ryan wants to make it go private.

I am on record on this one. I knew Ryan would do this as soon as Trump was sworn in.

Examples of anything other than national defense and printing money that the Federal government does better than the private sector?

The floor is yours.

the Ryan plan is to give people a voucher. but they would not be increased to account for inflation.

quote:

Problem, of course, is that the amount of those vouchers wouldn’t keep pace with the rate of healthcare inflation, so eventually an ever-larger share of the costs will fall to senior subscribers ? you know, the people on fixed incomes. The first time Ryan went down this road, the Kaiser Family Foundation calculated that by 2022, his plan would make healthcare spending consume roughly half of the typical 65-year-old’s Social Security check, compared to only 22 percent under the existing Medicare system.

What words would sugarcoat “fixed income means we don’t get raises and can’t afford this?”

And let’s look at Trump’s website for a minute, where the language for the pending massacre is even more delicate: “Modernize Medicare, so that it will be ready for the challenges with the coming retirement of the Baby Boom generation – and beyond.” Modernize Medicare, like how?

When I think “modernize,” I think of advances in tele-medicine, new systems to support caregivers, sharing of medical records to eliminate redundant tests.

Somehow, I suspect, that’s not what Washington has in mind.

the good news is that if they do this in the first year, the Dems will retake the House in 2018. I guarantee it.

They got out of it more than they paid in. About time we overhauled the greatest Ponzi scheme in the history of mankind.

Hold on.

Are you complaining about the president changing something or passing regulations without going through the legislative process?

You do realize that your "team" basically set the precedent for this, right?

Your team tacitly supported Obama's EOs and other actions without question.

Your "team" is the reason these powers exist.

Medicare is one of the few things where I go against my normal thought processes.

I can't stand busting my arse and paying huge chunks of my check into Medicare to pay for insurance for all of these baby boomers that rode the gravy train for decades in a different economy and now driving their $150,000 RVs to Jackson Hole twice a year.

My mom just got her bill for changing her defibrillator battery. Procedure took less than 15 minutes and didn't stay in the hospital overnight.

Over $200,000!

We are getting ripped off by hospitals! Blow it he whole thing up. I don't care what they do because what we have is broken.
