Well I thought we were specifically talking about the media stories, regardless of criminal prosecution. Of course, if it does get to that, then the 6th Amendment is applicable--although, we don't actually have an accuser, but Comey may be that person.

Well it depends really. Is the information leading them to the important evidence, or is it evidence (including an accusation) in and of itself?

To compare the two recent leaks. The Comey memo source is leading them to the evidence, whereas the Russian Diplomat source made an accusation, and specifically based on a first hand account.

They're playing into the narrative of fake news by not vetting their source. It's like the entire mainstream media turned into Dan Rather and Brian Williams.
