Plus a higher gas tax amd here in Lafayette there's a proposal for a new school tax. Add that to our state income tax and Holy Shite!

Good luck with your roadways and infrastructure. With that mentality you have zero right to bitch. And before you spout that the money is there, I suggest you do some fiscal homework. You'll find DOTDs budget is sorely lacking and light years behind other DOTs.

Exactly, industry in the state is taxed to death but where is it going? Worst roads and public schools around despite all of the industry.

JBE's reforms will raise taxes 400 million dollars of which none goes to highways and bridges.
Keep taxes the same, make some obvious cuts, reform the business exemptions and then let's talk about a gas tax for roads and bridges.

A lot of the state's tax problems are rooted in low property taxes.
Public schools are shite because of the students. No amount of money will fix that.
