Memories are probably going to be pretty long re: Gaetz and not just among swamp creatures. I get the sense he's alienated plenty of people who are pleased with Johnson, but I admittedly am just guessing. I suspect he's going to get politically whacked at some point.
I'm personally pleased with how things turned out and I am pretty middle of the road on Gaetz. I don't trust him ideologically at all and I certainly don't think he's motivated by service to the citizenry, but he could be a useful tactician for us.

If Johnson is a good speaker it will be more than worth it. I will have been 100% wrong. If the Gaetz wing of the party turns on Johnson before the mid terms, I will have lost all faith in that group of folks. We will see, I'm pulling for Johnson (not pulling, pulling for).
