To say it's been disastrous is an understatement. I anticipate that, it being Maryland, there will be no consequences for the Lt. Governor who is now running for Governor.

Stevie Wonder could see that socialized healthcare would be a disaster.

The Washington Post reported late Friday that the board of the Maryland exchange will vote on changing the system that has cost at least $125.5 million at a meeting on Tuesday, the day after the end of the first enrollment period under ObamaCare.
Maryland residents will still be able to use the exchange as it is being replaced with technology from the Connecticut exchange, Access Health CT, officials told The Post. The state is expected to tap consulting firm Deloitte for the overhaul.
Appears they are just changing the way(company) in enrolling, not getting rid of the program.

They obviously are dumping their program that they blew 125 million dollars, perhaps you are trying to say they aren't dumping Obama Care, something they can not do.

You're right. Not dumping Obocare, just changing the system they now use for sign-ups. When I first read the title of the OP it read to me that they were scrapping Obocare.

They're just changing the exchange software.
I thought that there might be hope for the liberal northeast...hopes dashed.

Good to know it only cost $2500 per person that signed up. I think the fed was quite a bit higher.

Pretty damning considering the proximity of Maryland with Washington, D.C.

And considering how much of an a-- kisser O'Malley is to BO. I did not post it as an illustration of a state finally coming to its senses (that simply isn't possible in the People's Republic of Maryland) but as an illustration of the horrible waste of taxpayer money.

They hired an IT company to set the system up and, as usual, they fell short.
Now they're hiring another company with a rep for running the bill up.

So far, the state says 49,293 Maryland residents have enrolled in private health plans as of last week, far short of the state’s original goal of 150,000 enrollments.
So less than 50K enrolled, of which on average 1/3 really don't have insurance since they didn't make their payments. It cost Maryland $125 million to get 35,000 people insurance, just over $3,500 per person.
But it is still better than Oregon-
quote:
The Government Accountability Office accepted an initial request from a group of House Republicans seeking an audit on how $304 million in federal grants were spent on the Cover Oregon website, which has yet to enroll a single person online without special assistance

Well since no state is required to set up an exchange, they can do whatever the hell they want.
It's their state.

That could've bought them the f$%King insurance. Not to mention all the money that has been spent by the federal gov't trying to promote and implement this POS. Anybody that thinks this is good is a ignorant, delusional dumbass.

Neither the providers of, nor the payers for healthcare are the federal government. Why do you call it "socialized"?

I know nothing about IT but how could you spend 125 million to build an exchange. We're just talking about the website right? I figured you could get it built for 20-40k. Maybe some expensive servers for another 10-20k. Where am I off by 124+ million?

It's not yet, but the logical course of this shitheap is collapse of private healthcare and them hoping people will beg for single payer as they make private healthcare unaffordable. Then we'll end up like Europe, a shitty inefficient "cheap" hc system paid for with outrageous taxes. And separate private system only accessible to those that can afford it.
