Mary doubles down --

"I don't think anyone would disagree with me [comments that Southerners are racists and sexists] if they are honest with themselves."

Now, we are dishonest if we don't agree with Mary. Truly desperate!

She's really showing her true Democrat colors, isn't she? She hates everything about her unwashed, non-FedGov-dependent constituents.

She's the spawn of a career Democrat politician, she's never held a real job in her life, she's spent her entire adult life in Wash DC and now we finally get to hear what she really thinks about us back here in ignorant racist Louisiana.

The funny thing is that she is insulting her own party: which dominated the state well into the 1990s.

Here is a crazy stat:

In 2004, DAVID VITTER WAS THE FIRST REPUBLICAN IN LA HISTORY TO BE POPULARLY ELECTED AS SENATOR.

Let that sink in. The previous republican senator served LA in 1876, and he was appointed.

It's bad enough that the bull shite meme that somehow the south has a special status for racism is out there without morons like this playing on the bull shite meme and being form the south!

The fact is, the meme really is just one giant load of bull shite. There is literally zero support for it. Is there racism in the south? Yep. And in Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, New Jersey, NY, and on and on. And, it's NO BETTER in those places.

The difference, if there is any, is in the fact that there are FAR more blacks per capita in the south and hence, more opportunities for racial conflict. I mean, the whole fricking town of Warsaw, Indiana could hate blacks but who are they going to frick with?

Which brings up this qyestion: Why would they live here if it's so hostile and everyplace else is so much better?

I could not believe my eyes and ears when I saw a Landrieu ad calling Bill Cassidy a "millionaire doctor," like actually having a job (that helps save peoples lives) is a bad thing. She's never held a real job in her entire life.

Give us the actual quote.
quote:

The South has not always been the friendliest or easiest place for African-Americans to advance, and it’s been a difficult place for women to be recognized as the leaders we are. Everyone knows this is the truth, and I will continue to speak the truth even as some would twist my words seeking political advantage”
ETA, before someone says she was talking about the 1950's, she was extrapolating to the present, as explanation for her presently deteriorating campaign.

This is completely accurate. She even said that Republicans would try to twist this into her playing the race card. The most depressing thing is that they did it anyway, and it's likely to work.

Once again, Republicans play on the emotions of the ignorant. If conservatives would only recognize that both sides make and buy into emotional arguments, we'd all be be better off.

Thanks for the quote from Landrieu. However, there was an additional comment she made about honesty that was on Fox News in a report by John Roberts. I will try to find.

Still waiting for the whole quote to be posted, but I can't help you if you don't think white people in Louisiana having a black president is an issue for them.

Here is the quote from NBC News.

quote:

I'll be very very honest with you. The South has not always been the friendliest place for African-Tmericans. It's been a difficult time for the president to present himself in a very positive light as a leader. It''s not always been a good place for women to present ourselves. It's more of a conservative place. So we've had to work a little bit harder on that, but you know, the people trust me, I believe. Really they do. Trust me to do the right thing for the state.

She tried to walk it back by also noting that the President's energy policies (rightfully, in her opinion) earned him a lot of ire in the state but her major quote was a political calculation, not some philosophical look at how the real world works.

And it was ill advised but probably too late to do any real damage before the runoff.

Her comments on his energy polices were part of the original quote. I'm just waiting for someone honest to post the whole quote.

JESUS CHRIST.

Your link starts with her talking about energy policy.

You can't even make up this kind of cognitive dissonance.
